Great site! Prepare for the drive!
Super pretty spot! We loved seeing the stars and enjoyed the scenic picnic bench a little down the way, which had a great sunset view around dinner time. It felt private. The campsite is pretty small, and the surrounding area is VERY steep, so be careful with anything round!
The drive in was a little scary. We have a 4WD vehicle, but on the way, it was a lot of very steep gravel hills with big rocks and steep drops on either side.

Camp site was nice and had a good view. We went tent camping and the ground was mostly gravel so it was hard to get the stakes in. Bathroom didn’t have toilet paper or sanitizing spray like it said in the description and we found the directions to be a little unclear.

Campsite with AMAZING views
What an incredible camping experience! I stayed at site #3 (best site if you can get it) and got an incredible view all night and all morning. Site is raised up and very flat, but is made of sort of...sharp little gravel pieces, so its definitely a place where you need a ground sheet for your tent and ideally, another layer between your tent floor and inflatable pad (if you are using one). If you do not have a ground sheet OR some layer between your pad and the tent floor, you WILL get your pad popped. I can almost guarantee it. Ground is sort of hard to drive stakes but you can use a brick (the fire pit has brick all around it) to hammer them in.
With regards to the approach, the road to the campGROUND - you must approach from central city parkway UNLESS you have a capable 4WD with a dedicated low gear. 2 brothers road up from Idaho Springs is very steep, and washed out in places, with diagonal wash gullies running across the road in places. I limped my AWD Nissan down that road, and it was ok, but I would NOT try to go up with anything except a very capable 4WD. The central city approach is totally fine though.
With regards to the approach to the campSITE from the campground entrance. The road down is fairly steep and rocky, but I was able to get my AWD Nissan up and down twice with no issues. Had to move one rock but that was it. 2WD cannot do this, though. straight up.

Site 3 had the most incredible views. Directions were easy to follow and the terrain is no joke. You definitely cannot access any of these sites without 4wd and an off-road capable vehicle.
