My wife and I only needed a place to sleep for the night. We booked the lower spot because we have a tent and the poverty far exceeded our expectations. It was so lush and quiet, and more private than we expected.
We disperse camp and backpack often and it’s very rare you find a place where you can hear road noise or planes overhead. But it was incredibly quiet and we woke to the birds singing in the trees overhead. Will definitely stay again on trips to Santa Cruz.
The only facilities were a porta-john , but it was one of the cleanest I’ve seen. Had a sink and everything.
In the morning, it’s a short 15 minute drive through the forest back to Highway 1. Stop by Cat and Cloud coffee for a great morning breakfast and coffee.

Nice quiet, secluded spot to stay for the night.
The driveway and entrance is no joke regarding the steepness and angles. Be aware if you are traveling in anything larger than a sprinter van!

This is a great, peaceful spot nestled within the trees, and we really enjoyed our stay. Firewood was provided, and there was a portable toilet to use (that was a bit rough). The drive up to spot 1 (upper deck) is really steep. We managed to get out 20ft FWD camper van up there on the second attempt by taking the corner as wide as possible. AWD vehicles will have a much easier time getting up!

Very hard to back my tall Sprinter

Arrived to find that the signage was missing so had turn around on steep driveway. Gentleman who greeted us was very friendly but not super helpful as he was tending two loose dogs and a toddler. One dog actually ran under my van at one point.
When we finally got to the spot it was chaos trying to back into the spot up a steep uneven hill with kid and dogs running around. Safety mechanisms on my van took over and would not let me back into the spot. Ended up having to abort and find another place to sleep last minute that night.
Host needs to be very clear about what rigs can maneuver into the spot.
I tried to reach out to the host to resolve this without leaving a negative review but she did not respond.

Keri’s place was lovely! We had a campervan and tent between 4 of us. We were greeted in the morning by a lovely mountain dog. The scenery was beautiful. The roads are a bit windy coming up to the site so your car may need a little more oomph to get around the corners.

We have used Hipcamp many times, and usually the host comes to greet us on arrival and gives a brief about the property. The camping spot was an unlevel dirt area and extremely difficult to pull into. There was no privacy because the site is in the front of the house near the main road. It felt awkward to be camping and the neighbors driving by.

Conveniently located to many mountain bike trails, and has a quiet isolated feel even though there are other homes nearby. Would recommend for a Sprinter Van (the hill and final turn are steep and sharp but it’s not really a problem.)

Very nice secluded location in the Redwoods. Keri responded to all communication quickly. Would not recommend for vehicles much larger or taller than Sprinter van.

It was great! The host was very responsive. Nice spot in redwood close to Santa Cruz. The hill was a bit steep, but outside of that we are happy we could stay!
