Loved my night stay here! Made friends with the pigs and cats. Apples off the tree in the morning! Very peaceful and quiet! Mark was an excellent host.

Great property, great folks. Would recommend this stay if you’re in the area. Close to county and state parks, near the city, and beautiful stars at night!

This wonderful farm has plenty of apple trees and it looks great at this time of year. Lots of apples and the farm animals are greeting you in the morning. Such a beautiful place to be!

Highly recommend this spot! The hosts are super nice and leave you to your peace, allowing you to freedom, respectively of course. The night sky is incredible and the rooster wakes you in the morning. I was greeted the next morning by a group of gardeners studying for a class but they weren’t intrusive. I even got to pick some apples off the trees for a road snack! I was well prepared with my own water and potty system and had a lovely time visiting all the dogs & cats!

Great farm-stay camping!

The Ripe Choice Farm & Catering
We had a fantastic stay at the farm this past weekend, camping Saturday night in our RV trailer. It's a beautiful property with a lush vineyard and apple orchards.
The host Mark was very helpful and friendly, he greeted us upon arrival and gave us some good ideas for activities in the area.
The RV area is large and you can select which area you want to setup camp. We picked a walnut tree just past the barn which offered a good amount of shade for our trailer. No bathroom or hookups so come prepared.
The other host Chief, a large friendly golden Labrador, was very friendly and kept us company. There other critters were fun to see including chickens, pot belly pigs, cats and a large tortoise
But the highlight was Chef Tammy's catered breakfast. It was all freshly prepared with ingredients from the farm including freshly pressed apple juice. I didn't ask where the bacon came from since one of the pigs kept us company during breakfast :)
My only regret was not pre-ordering Tammy's catered dinner! Given how delicious the breakfast was I can only imagine what her dinners are like. Next time.
This must be the best value HipCamp yet, I appreciate the hosts keeping the camping fees low and offering incredible meals for a reasonable price. Thanks!

I came with a friend and we loved camping here! You can just pop a tent up by the grape vines and enjoy some lovely views of stars at nighttime, take a walk through the vines and apple trees, and meet the animals. We ran into mark in the morning while he letting the chickens out and had a lovely chat with him. Overall, a wonderful, relaxing way to spend a night near the lake.

Went with a friend and my dog over the 4th of July to escape city firework madness and it was just what we needed. Mark was a friendly host, who patiently put up with all my pre visit questions. His wife, the chef, is an AMAZING cook, and if you don’t order food you’re missing out on a big part of the wonderful experience. The farm is tranquil and cute. A couple of old friendly dogs, and Chief, the male, was a sweetheart and hung out with us day and night (we appreciated the company and my dog got along with him well). There is a tortoise named Zippy who is very zippy, pigs, chickens, and a funny young guard rooster who didn’t want me petting his pigs. We would love to come back again!

Quiet, peaceful vineyard

Decided to go camping that morning and Mark was very responsive and helpful. The farm/ vineyard is beautiful and we were able to explore and picnic in different spots. My boys loved seeing the animals. As a mom camping with her two small children, I felt very safe on this property. There’s a gate with a code needed to enter the property. About 10 minutes away is clear lake state park and for $8 you can get a day pass. The swim beach is perfect for families. This area was about 15 degrees hotter than where we were coming from in Sonoma County so make sure to check weather and plan accordingly if coming in the summer time. Would love to come back!

Perfect spot to spend the night on our road trip. 🏕️Quote from my 11 year old daughter:”Super awesome, the animals 🐖🐓were very friendly, especially Felix the 🐈. Mark and his wife were nice too. A must stay for any animal lovers and adventurer families! The dogs🐶 were so adorable and nice 👍 the trip was a blast. Super cute animals for the kiddo to meet. Clean space. Close to town for a farmers market and yard sales. We enjoyed the place to hang out for the weekend.

We had a wonderful time at The Ripe Choice. Mark and Tammy were both very welcoming and kind host. All the animals on the farm were very curious to meet and greet us. We were fortunate to pick a weekend when The Ripe Choice and other small farms in the area were open for tours of there farms. Tammy did a course on how to assemble a charcuterie board. The course was very informative and the end product was beautiful! She also made us a delicious breakfast. It is peaceful and quit property. Waking up to the sunrise over the vineyard was absolutely beautiful. We sure would recommend The Ripe Choice to others! Thanks for wonderful weekend! S&K

Stay here. Not just for the peaceful nights, friendly pups or affordable price - but stay for Mark + Tammy. The food, hospitality, friendly chats & welcoming nature is why hospitality is so hard to master these days. I stayed in my pop-up tent for just a night, and had one of the best experiences I can remember.

Best hosts ever! Mark and Chef Tammy have a wonderful farm that they love dearly and it shows. You have to try Chef Tammy’s meals. They’re over the moon!
The land is private and easily accessible. The farm animals, beautiful vineyards and orchards also make this the Ripe Choice!

Mark and Tammy are the best hosts, and they are just as beautiful people personally as they the homestead they share. You must partake in Chef Tammy’s offerings, as this is the best meal that I’ve had in forever! Plus, Mark provides great conversation and insight into the local communities. I just can’t say enough good things about this place!

We stayed for one night in our campervan and had a great experience. Mike and his wife were very welcoming. Our toddler especially loved seeing the farm animals. Even though it was a quick stay, it was peaceful, easy, and perfect for what we needed. Highly recommend!

We had the most amazing experience at The Ripe Choice Farm. Mark & Tammy were really engaging hosts. Their recommendations for restaurants, wineries & local attractions were spot on for our personalities & interests. We started with a cooking class by Chef Tammy which was absolutely fabulous. The ingredients all sourced from local farms & soooo delicious. We’re already planning a trip back - looking forward to spending more time at a really amazing location with really cool people.

It’s a wonderful place to stay lots and lots of birds different kinds lots of animals on the property, including an African turtle. The owners are very welcoming and the food that you can order is just delicious. Give it a try.!

This is such a sweet place. My daughter and I decided to go on an impromptu overnight in our Vanagon very last minute and this was such a simple, no-fuss reservation and experience. Beautiful property, quite, not too far out of the way, but just enough. And the rate is beyond reasonable. We'll come back! We want to experience the food next time. Thanks so much for making this space available for folks like us.
