Near Yosemite National Park

Within a 60-minute drive from the South Entrance.

The Ahwahnee Camp is located approximately 25 miles from the South Gate entrance to Yosemite National Park and just 16 miles to Bass Lake. Surrounded by oak, manzanita, and pine trees, the camp is in a secluded area of our 30 acre property. The camp site has beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and peaks of Yosemite off in the distance. The space can accommodate 2-3 tents depending on tent size and parking for two cars.The Ahwahnee Camp is a secluded space facing Northeast on our 30 acre wooded property. Beautiful oaks, manzanita, buckeye, and pine trees surround the site amongst granite rock and boulders. Campers will enjoy the site to themselves with an area that can accommodate 2-3 tents comfortably depending on size. At the camp site you’ll find a large 6 person picnic table, a couple Adirondack chairs,, and our newest addition, an 8' cowboy pool. On hot summer days, the cowboy pool is the perfect spot to cool off and kick back. There is also a spigot for potable water at the camp. Our newly remodeled bathroom in the garage off the main house is just a 2 minute walk from the campsite. It includes a toilet and hot/cold water sink. Additionally, campers have access to our Observation Deck during their stay. The deck is a short walk from the camp site with spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and nature. On the deck you'll find a gas fire pit, Adirondack chairs, and a small 4 person bistro table and chairs, a 2-person hammock, and even cornhole. It's the perfect spot for everything from a morning yoga session to an evening of star gazing.

Flush toilet. Guests can enjoy the newly remodeled bathroom in the main house garage which includes a sink and toilet. It is just a short walk from the camp site.

Pets allowed

Four legged friends are welcome, but please understand that our land around the campsite is natural & wild. It’s a rocky and wooded terrain with wild grasses, prickers, and poison oak. We have a variety of wildlife including bobcats, fox, coyotes, rattlesnakes, deer and skunk. On occasion we’ll see a bear on our wildlife cam, but have never actually seen one in person. Please keep all this in mind when bringing a furry friend, and we also kindly ask you pick up & bag any poo’s.

The Ahwahnee Base Camp

The owners are really nice and made sure I arrived safely, showed me around. There’s tons of space, fantastic views, and you feel secluded but still have some niceties around (bathroom, hammock, deck). I drove a Jeep compass on the driveway with no issue. Slept in the car on a nice flat area. Would be good for a tent set up too!

Great spot! with all the thoughtful touches we needed to relax after being in Yosemite. We had our pop up tent on our truck, which there is plenty of room for. A beautiful view of the canyon and sunset. About a 30 min drive to the lower entrance. We had the best time, and would happily return.

The Ahwahnee Base Camp

Brian and Ashley’s property is tucked away but also close to many beautiful spots. The place is well-kept and the site offers privacy and comfort. The bathroom is a plus and water access made it easier for us. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like picnic tables, food storage, marked and lit trails for walking at night and of course the pool facing the nice view of the mountains nearby. Additionally, having access to the deck is pretty cool, we enjoyed staying at the fire pit before calling it the night. Brian was friendly, flexible, responsive and went above and beyond. He even helped with pitching the tent and giving great recommendations! 👌🏼 You can tell they care about creating a great experience for their guests. Whether you’re looking to unwind, reconnect with nature, or just have a peaceful getaway, this place checks every box. Highly recommended! 💯
