What a beautiful spot! The (surprisingly large) Ben Lomond market is 10 minutes away to stock up. Then all of a sudden you are driving down this forested road where you feel completely remote! Our camping spot was perfect; we felt completely secluded and the ridge area to walk up to was such a bonus. So far we camped in 5 Hipcamp spots this summer, all wonderful, but this was our favorite. We can’t wait to visit again with our little boy and dog. Yes there are mosquitos and they found us even outside the “dusk” window (we are extra sensitive to them). But we were well informed and prepared; they even have a new mosquito tent to share!

The perfect spot! It was exactly what we were looking for. Jolyn was a great host. The site was quiet and private. It was just easy to access, and nice to escape the bustle of Santa Cruz. The mosquitoes were fierce, and I wish we had been given a heads up. Also it would have been great to have a small table or bench for my camp stove for morning coffee. We will be back!

We had a lovely stay here! The area is beautiful, and as advertised, there are wonderful trees! Our spot was easy to find and very cozy. Loved it!

We loved our stay and we would definitely go back. The property is very secluded and private, under a beautiful and lush redwood canopy. Jolyn was very welcoming and friendly. Her directions were clear and her communication was thorough, which was important because of the remote location and lack of cell coverage. The tent site was clear and flat, with a composting pit toilet. Jolyn also provided and refilled a 1-gal. jug of water each day. If you are used to remote, primitive backpacking-style camping, like we are, it’s great.
We also had a nice wade in the gorgeous creek by the road on the way out. Bonus!

The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They seemed eager to share their big patch of forest with strangers. The site had a lot of mosquitoes (early June) and if you're particular about perfectly flat tent spots you may be disappointed. Lots of options for hammocks, but beware of poison oak. There's no fire pit at this site but the hosts found us a spot for a cooking fire even when the other campsites were in use.

Jolyn was so welcoming to our large group of pre-teen boys and girls for one night of camping. She gave the kids a great orientation. The setting, views, and amazing fire pit were just incredible. Wish we could have stayed more than one night.

This redwood forest setting is gorgeous. The campsite is on a ridge with sweeping views of the Santa Cruz mountains. In the morning, you will observe the fog hovering over Loch Lomand. There is a large campfire pit with seating built into the earth that was once used as a sweat lodge. The Sacred Earth Retreat is a magical place.
Jolyn is an incredible person and lovely host. She was extremely helpful in shuttling us and our gear up the final stretch of dirt road which is only passable with a 4 wheel drive vehicle. I would highly recommend this camping venue.

What a wonderful two nights in a very beautiful place. The ridge views are absolutely stunning!
Directions were easy to follow, and I dealt with Jolyn who is wonderful and helpful.
The spot was more than expected - water was even left for us. Walking around the property was fun and I highly recommend strolling through the rose garden.
The space and experience surpassed expectations.

Loved the filtered forrest site, was super quiet, private and just a slice of undeveloped natural forrest beauty.
the drive up is an adventure, but the directions were great, so no trouble really.
