Ponderosa Flat Campground stands out as a serene retreat nestled within a picturesque ponderosa pine forest, offering stunning views along the shores of Butt Lake in Northern California's Plumas County. This unique location provides campers with a tranquil atmosphere, where many sites are positioned right on the water's edge. Several of these rustic campsites are now available for reservation through our convenient online system. While the campground does not feature hook-ups, it offers essential amenities such as vault toilets, fire rings, and potable water to enhance your camping experience. Please note that there are no bear boxes available, so it is crucial to store all food items securely in vehicles overnight to prevent attracting bears. Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to enjoy at Butt Lake, with popular activities including canoeing, kayaking, and sailboating. Motorized fishing boats are permitted, but please be aware that water skiing and jet skiing are not allowed, and a height restriction of 30 feet, including the mast, is enforced. For those looking to launch their boats, the nearby Ray Adams Boat Ramp, located approximately one mile south of the campground, features a concrete single-lane ramp with limited trailer parking and no launch fee required. Experience the beauty and adventure that Ponderosa Flat Campground has to offer!
