Mary from Personal Creekside Camping was a gracious, kind, and informative host at our recent Hip Camp stay. Ideally located next to a relaxing creek loaded with blackberries, it was spacious and shaded. Her camp is ideally situated near Penn Valley and about 20 minutes from Grass Valley. The sky is dazzling with stars! Mary shared her experiences and recommended local spots to check out. Mountain Ranch Winery is a mere ten minute drive and if you don’t stop by to taste and engage with Bob, well you’ll miss out on a local gem and enlightened conversation. Be sure to check them out. The valley and surrounding area is full of friendly people, nature, culture, and great food. You won’t be disappointed with Mary and her property.

We had a lovely, peaceful weekend beside the creek. With a 30' travel trailer, access and turnaround was easy, plenty of shade along creek. Mary was a great host and we enjoyed our stay.

Great place! Mary was very kind, and it was an awesome camping experience with our toddler. I bit hot in the middle of the day (mid June, to be expected) so bring ice and a pop up tent for extra shade if you can. Great experience - would recommend!

Our family loved camping at Mary's property, indeed my son said this was the best camping ever. Mary and her son are the best and also the nicest!
The spot is private, located in a lovely neighborhood kids can bike around safely, it has a beautiful view and the relaxing sound of the water running it's course on the creek.
We were able to connect travel trailer to water hose and electricity, under the shade of tall trees. There was a portable potty, trampoline, firepit, volleyball court, playground, picnic tables, and chairs, all for our use! Farm fresh eggs and bundles of wood were just a great addition!
Downtown Grass Valley is close by (driving distance), Yuba river too, and pump track park only five minutes away. I would highly recommend Mary's Land!

We just spent our second visit at Mary's. It's such a peaceful setting right on a little creek on the border of the property. Mary is helpful and welcomed us both times. She provided information about the area and made sure we had everything we needed. The property is beautiful, private and quiet. There are areas to walk around and close hiking trails. We'll def be back if she'll have us.

It's a lovely piece of land and listening to the creek we were next to was quite lovely. The site had a lot of extra seating and some activities like a badminton net available for use, but we didn't use them. Still, a nice addition for others. Mary was super responsive and just a sweet, amenable person.

Mary was so wonderful! Perfect set up for us as we had multiple little children with us - Mary had a swing set, two mini trampolines (perfect for jumping as well as naps!), the wild blackberries growing on site were so juicy and perfect.. she had a sprinkler set up for the kids to play in and a kiddie pool, along with the creek running through the campsite which was a huge hit!
Mary was so accommodating and helpful with whatever we needed. She set up an outdoor plug for us when we requested it, and was just a perfect host.
She recommended a kid friendly river swimming hole which was perfect.
She made our stay so wonderful.

Our three families enjoyed our time at Mary's creek side camp. Our young ones bounced on the trampoline and other times the teenagers were found gabbing and lounging on the trampoline. Access to power allowed for some camping upgrades like bringing the coffee maker. The firepit was perfect for evening chill time. We brought bocce ball and corn hole and there was plenty of room for everything. We had tents for sleeping, plus setup tables and popups for dining and crafts, in addition to the already supplied picnic tables. Perfectly located for some day trips to the local swimming hole and nearby covered bridge. Can't say enough positive things. Oh and the babbling brook was a delight to sleep by at night.

The creek was delightful and it was such a peaceful and serene setting. Loved the fire pit as well as the open grassy field -- our pup had a blast running around.
Mary was a delightful host who took extra care to make sure we had an enjoyable visit--we were missing an adaptor for the power line and she texted immediately that she'd find one or go to the hardware store to get one for us (she found one!).
Looking forward to visiting again -- thanks Mary!

Mary is an incredible hostess. She's very thoughtful of her campers and maintains a beautiful property.
The creek is a soothing sound at night.
There is a refreshing and fun swimming hole for families within a short 8-10 min drive. Don't miss visiting Honey and Cream coffee shop as well.
If you love goats, Mary let's you visit them when no campers are in her "camping with goats" site.

This property is perfect for a family who wants a nice private area to camp at! The kids had a blast with the Volleyball net and badminton! Mary was very accommodating. She knew we were on the hunt for some fresh organic fruits and veggies and she was able to let us know about a local Farmers Market. I would highly recommend checking out this wonderful campsites! Thank you Mary for an awesome trip.. oh I almost forgot about the eggs we received. Her neighbor provided the best, freshest eggs we've ever had! ⛰️⛺️🚙

We loved Mary’s spot by the creek! We are newbies to fifth wheel life and Mary helped us along the way! The camp spot is amazing with tables, chairs, swing set for kids, mini trampoline and a full volleyball set up! We definitely will be back! If you’re looking for a quiet stay with a beautiful ambiance, Mary’s place is a great location with a great host. She even lent us some sleeping pads and a space heater for the night! The overhead and solar lighting was an extra plus. Will be back!

Mary was very nice and we liked seeing the goats. If you are looking for privacy and a more wilderness experience I do not recommend this site for you. However if you like lights, comfortable chairs, a clean bathroom, a mini playground with trampoline and a small creek you can listen to, it is yours. This site is in a neighborhood. I recommend for a family, not two experienced campers looking for seclusion. The state park is only 20 minutes and the river was fun as well as grass valley.

My friends and I had a fantastic time at this camp site. It was extremely spacious and there were a lot of fun things to do. We camped along the creek and the sound was extremely soothing at night. There were lots of tall trees which afforded shade in the hottest parts of the day. We were also all really excited to spend time with the goats nearby. There was a volleyball court, badminton rackets and birdies, and lots of tables and chairs. All in all we had a great time!

Mary’s place was absolutely perfect for our two families, and she was hands down the best hostess! The camp has lots of space and many things to keep the kids busy like a trampoline, badminton net, swing set, as well as goats and kitties to socialize with. Plus, falling asleep to the sound of the creek was really soothing. It is obvious she put a lot and of time and thought into the camp area. There are already picnic tables, some chairs, a fire pit, an immaculate port-o-potty, a hose for water and many well placed solar powered lights. Mary was a joy to talk with and the kids loved her too. I hope we get an opportunity to return to Mary’s place again someday!

From Popsicles for the kids to the swing set, trampoline, badminton, and all the sweet animals, our family had a wonderful time here!
She recommended a swimming hole at a nearby park that we loved as well. She truly offers a great hipcamp experience. :)

My friends and I had a wonderful time camping on Mary’s property for 4th of July weekend. Mary was so easy to communicate leading up to our trip and during our trip. She checked in on us during our stay and took care of us. Her property is very spacious that you get enough space/privacy with your group. Mary had some nice touches to her space with a volleyball net, tables, and fire pit set up. She even lent us her pop up tent to give us some shade from the sun. Definitely recommend this place! At first thought we thought it may be a little weird camping in someone’s backyard.. but we had a great time staying on Mary’s land! Mary was such an amazing host. She went above, and beyond for us and our two girls. She made sure we had everything we needed and more! She even went out and got the girls a kiddie pool as it was a very hot weekend. She provided ideas, and suggestions on places to go and they did not disappoint! We had an issue with our trailer on arrival, and Mary jumped right in to assist and told us where to get parts. We also got to feed her goats, and my girls were beyond excited to do that as well. Would definitely recommend!

Mary’s place is fantastic. From the start when we booked she was super responsive to any questions, she is a wonderful host too. Helping with ideas for day trips, food etc pre arrival and also when we arrived and welcomed us.
Campsite was excellent, we felt as though we were on our own just as the listing stated, stream was nice to listen to, picnic benches and toilet were all super clean, nice touch with the solar lighting at night so you could see where you are going. Overall campsite is super relaxing, chilled place that’s off the beaten path. Good thing is that Penn Valley (5 min drive) has restaurant, groceries etc,, if you can’t find something Grass Valley is only 15 mins away.
Covered Bridge at Bridgeport a great place to visit.
We would certainly stay again - we had a great couple of nights stay

Really enjoyed camping here! Mary was the sweetest and was able to loan us her air mattress pump and even a canopy to keep the sun off of us while we were camping. Its a great location and very close to some fun hiking trails. Our kids (4 and 1) enjoyed running around and the sound of the creek was very relaxing! One night a skunk woke us up when it jumped on the table trying to get into our food (and now we know to put our food away when we go to sleep lol) Highly recommend!

We had a really nice time at Mary's, despite a torrential downfall early in the morning of our last day.
The space itself is open but also has the welcome cover of trees. There was lots for our toddlers to do -- they spent hours on the trampoline alone, and loved visiting the goats. We were a good proximity to a number of cute swimming holes, which was a perfect way to start the summer. The babbling brook was amazing to listen to as we went to bed both nights.
Most of all, though, I want to mention just how friendly and generous Mary was. She was extremely helpful whenever she thought we might need something, and even let one of us borrow a larger tent. The firewood she provided (for cheap) worked well, and she makes herself very accessible. She wasn't intrusive but always had a friendly face to greet us with.

We were looking for a campsite near our home to try out our new Rv. Mary's camp was exactly what we were looking for. It was so peaceful with lots of nature to enjoy. One afternoon we spent watching the birds, butterflies and other wildlife. Great spot we would highly recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful time camping at Mary's property. It was perfect for my family (2 adults and 2 kids, 4 and 8 y old). My kids loved the swings and trampoline. Hearing the creek running close by was very relaxing, and the water and power hook-up worked well. We enjoyed the site, and also explored the cute towns of Grass Vallet and Nevada City.
