We loved the location of the Hipamp - lots of hiking and river relaxation areas around. Unfortunately, the site was not maintained - grass was really tall on the "trails" and in the site resulting in lots of ticks. There is not actual access to the river via a trail, or at least not one we could clearly find.
With a little bit more upkeep, this could be a really cool Hipcamp spot.

Even if I camped in the middle of winter, there was no snow. Couldn’t of imagined a better place to camp! However if you’re a squatcher like me, please consider going in May-August with a lot more activities open.

lovely spot, very beautiful, wild and private. feels rugged without having to hike all your gear in somewhere. river access is straight up dreamy... grill works great, burners don't get crazy strong but they're very consistent. adjustable grill over the fire pit takes a little getting used to and the handle and latch get very very hot after the fire's been going, but is overall a nice touch. bathroom is just a pit toilet, bring your own tp.

Maintain trail to river and bathroom. Lots of poison oak. Husband ended up with seven ticks on him and he was the only one who ventured to the river. Trial from parking to camp was steep for carrying coolers and camping stuff, would have been nice to know that so we could have packed different. Nice to allow pets, good cooking stove and fire pit. No water was fine till last day, fortunately the store is well stocked. Bridge noise wasn’t a huge issue.

This is a super private and beautiful spot to camp if you want to play in the river! Yes it’s under a bridge but there are not many cars that come by so it was totally fine. The pit toilet was nice and had a gorgeous view. Being able to use the stove and picnic tables was great too!
The hike down to the river takes maybe 5 minutes and we kept walking a little further down to access a great swimming spot. We didn’t see another person all day, it was so private and peaceful. Would definitely stay again!

Spacious and quaint. Initially off-putting, as the camp spot is directly under a bridge. However, the constant sound of the river nearby, the trees, and the privacy made it a nice trip.

Such a great spot! Little to no mosquitos, great fire pit and cooking attachment. Great spot for a small group and good times, long hikes all around the area, and the store was a few minutes away. Trail to river could’ve been better maintained it was pretty overgrown, and the spigot produced nasty smelling water, being your worn water if camping here.

Great private spot with easy access to the river. It's right under the highway, so every time a car passed by it sounded kind of like thunder, but it was cool lol. The grate over the fire pit was useful, especially since we forgot to bring almost everything needed to cook. Luckily we didn't really need any of it with that grate. We didn't try the grill and oven but it looked like it was in great condition. Also the hose at the site was a great touch. Helped us stay cooled off when we were at our site.

Cool spot. Great to have the grate over the fire and access to the bbq. Under a bridge, but noise didn’t bother us. River access, but ideal sitting spot is across a short wade across a river. There are a lot of other river spots nearby and cool market.

For such a ridiculously low price this site was actually really nice. The huge propane stove was amazing, and the fire pit, tables, and benches exceeding my expectations. I believe the host is still working on this site, so I'm thinking it will get better. You can hear the river down below, but it is a bit hard to climb down too, at least at this time. The site was also pretty private. The only strange thing was that it was directly under a highway bridge which decreased the "nature" experience. However, almost no traffic on that rtoad, so it wasn't a problem. If you are passing through and need a nice campsite for a bargain, come here. Normally you only get nothing but an empty field for $25. Also the host was very responsive and friendly.
