I recommend! We enjoyed our 3-night stay on Samantha's land. We spent most of our day visiting the South Yuba River and returned to the land before dark. Quick and simple ~20-minute drive to spots on 'Uba Seo. The picnic bench and chairs were nice for lounging, journaling, reading, and eating meals. The site was easy to locate after the gravelly 3-mile road. You'll be surrounded by tree relatives and other animal kin. Note, there is not much service in most areas. The eggs (add-on) were a great plus. The bathroom/shower worked fine, and offered hot water, which was what we mainly wanted out of this facility offering. Her pups were very sweet and playful. Samantha was friendly, kind, and knowledgeable about the history of the land. Thank you for making our adventure meaningful, safe, and comfortable!

Super quiet camping in the woods with lots of crickets. Really felt like we got away from it all. But we still had amenities like a bathroom and shower. And close enough to the Yuba River to enjoy what it has to offer. Would definitely camp here again.

We camped on Samantha's land and had a great time. The location is up the hill from their property so is quite private. The area has everything you need for a little trip away. Samantha was also super friendly and had great knowledge of locations and activities in the are. All in all we would come here again.

We loved tent camping under the starts and in the middle of the woods on Samantha’s land. The view was beautiful and directions were clear. It was our 10 month baby first experience camping, we had access to the bathroom, water just right there, picnic table and the shower was a plus ! We were looking for an experienced just like this ! Family friendly and safe overall. We will definitely come back! Thanks Samantha and son for such a good welcome and let us collect memories in your site.

This was a last minute reserve, for late at night, but it was perfect. Easy directions to the spot. Just note you might not have reception when you get there to contact the host. So make sure you screenshot instructions. Waking up here was so peaceful and beautiful. Hidden gem. Thank you! Loved the doggie-love. Since we came after dark, it was a bit hard to find the bathroom/shower getting in. So we decided to wait til morning.

We loved Samantha’s spot! The site is very private and the secluded property makes you feel like you’ve got the forest to yourself. Running water right there, plenty of fire wood around, and a short walk to a full-service bathroom! Don’t forget to say hi to the host and her sweet dogs. You won’t regret staying here!

Super easy and quiet spot to camp; sweet and welcoming hosts and pups! Fresh water right at the site, flush toilet and shower down the hill (hot water is iffy, but gets you clean!) Recommend!

Definitely one of my favorites to get to my favorite trails. I can't believe it's taken me so long to book this spot. I love the hosts' hospitality and could not believe how beautiful it is at night with a small fire staring up at the stars.

My three friends and I had a blast at Samantha’s property off the beaten track of Nevada City. The camping spot was beautiful and comfortable, and we loved meeting Samantha and her adorable son and appreciated their restaurant recommendations for the weekend. The separate bathhouse and shower was an added treat and we loved meeting doggos Buttercup and Dragon as well. It was about 37 minutes to downtown Nevada City. We would stay here again!

Wonderful & remot deep in the woods

I had exactly the experience I was looking for at this Hipcamp. I wanted several days to work remotely in the woods where I could sit outside all day in the middle of nature instead of in a city at home at my desk. My ATT mifi got two bars which was enough for me to call into meetings with video off and work online.
Before and after work I took long walks (plenty of trails and dirt roads) and saw coyotes, jackrabbits and lots of bird life. (There are also bugs and mosquitoes so don't forget your repellent!) The tanks campsite is dry but my solar panel worked to charge what I needed but when one of my inverters blew, Samantha was kind enough to let me charge my laptop overnight at her place.
The property is a family compound with the campsite in viewing distance of the structures but far enough away to where you feel total privacy. A little walk down the hill to the compound takes you to a quirky bathroom building with flushing toilet and shower, both free for campers to use. At one point or another, I met everyone in the family and they were all kind, enjoyable and respectful of my privacy.
This is a quintessential Hipcamp where you get the wonderful, real experience of country living and camping along with hosts who good people and care about the land and your time on it. I definitely plan on coming here again. It was wonderful.

It was a beautiful space among the trees. The wooden tables and chairs made the space convenient and cozy. I appreciated having access to drinking water on the campsite!
Samantha was a considerate and friendly host who made us feel welcome. I would definitely stay there again.

A peaceful, welcoming camp spot off the beaten path, with a warm shower and lovely bench to kick back and look at the stars. I slept so well and enjoyed connecting with the helpful owners as well!

Great spot for tent camping! Super friendly hosts and sweet sweet dog! The stars were amazing. The little bathhouse had a shower and everything was clean. Beautiful spot, would stay again. Only a 35 min drive from town and some great river spots are on the way. We were able to get through the dirt road in a small car, though 4 wheel drive would be a good call if you have one.

Samantha’s property was beautiful and about a 45-minute drive to great swimming spots along the yuba. Very peaceful and safe with clear directions, and Sam and her family were so friendly and welcoming. Recommend bringing bug spray for the evening & morning hours but overall we had a wonderful stay and would stay here again!

Best of all worlds. The clean water spigot was a godsend and the nearby bathroom and shower felt like such a. Luxury for what otherwise was off grid camping. The site felt private and off grid at night, no lights to interfere with the amazing stargazing.

Sarah's land was beautiful & a 30-min drive from South Yuba River and a 60-90 min drive from Lake Tahoe. I enjoyed the nature escape and was even able to hang a hammock! Highly recommend it if you're in the area.

This place is beautiful and far off the beaten path. We had a lovely night but be careful of the poison oak surrounding the camp sites.

Host is charming, her vision for her land laudable and her efforts seasable but her house surrounded by a dozen junk cars and visible from the camp conflicts with it, sadly. I'd recommend it only to someone looking for complete solitude, to think, read, write or meditate as there is otherwise nothing much to see or do without driving quite a bit from the camp. So perfect for a very quiet,
private and peaceful retreat in nature only.

Samantha was there to greet me when I arrived and she is so sweet and helpful. Her place is in a beautiful forested nature setting that feels so Safe, Peaceful & Quiet. I had plenty of space to myself, clean water to drink, the option of a shower & toilet not too far away, I had everything I needed & thoroughly enjoyed my stay😊

Beautiful location! We were greeted by 6 deer at our campsite when we arrived! We were able to find the location with ease, and even were perfectly able to drive our old Buick on the dirt road to their land. Samantha and Carl were very friendly and told us of some neat spots to check out nearby! Frogs ribbiting at night, and turkeys gobbling in the morning! Absolutely loved our time and can’t wait to go back.

It was so fun camping on Samantha's land! A beautiful drive thru the woods led us to a clearing at the top of a hill (where the water tanks were) where we set up camp. We were the only campers there during our stay so we had the place to ourselves, super nice.
Samantha (and Carl) were super helpful, hospitable and friendly. We felt like we were visiting friends, minus the staying-in-the-guest-room experience.
We were able to have a campfire, which was permitted due to them current conditions. I wasnt necessarily planning to, so it was helpful to have access to so much firewood on site.
With 2 kids in tow, we weren't able to fully explore what the area had to offer, but when we come again, I'd make sure to bring bikes for the kids, ATV/dirt bikes if you have em (trails en route), some dog treats for the super friendly Buttercup, and [more] smores.
Looking forward to staying there again! Thanks tanks! And Samantha!

Samantha & Carl are wonderful hosts! Their land is tucked off the main road surrounded by big tall trees. There was plenty of room for our group of 6 and we were so thankful for their water and bathroom access. We will absolutely return for another stay in the near future :)
