Earn this patch by being the first to spend a night outside at a new Hipcamp.
Set on the Northern outskirts of Portola, CA. Just one mile from town, resting on the edge of pine tree-covered mountains, looking over a calming pastoral scene. Settle into a quiet meadow retreat less than 10 minutes from Lake Davis. Our campsite sits beside wide‑open pastureland, surrounded by beautiful pines on peaceful game refuge land, where the breeze moves through the grass, and ravens call to one another across the fields. It’s a calm, restorative corner of the Lost Sierra — perfect for slowing down and reconnecting with nature. Adventure and wildlife are right at your doorstep: Ride your mountain bike around the property or head up to Lake Davis to prep for The Lost & Found Gravel Grinder event that comes every June. Access to some of the best hiking around! You can check out the Beckwourth Peak Trail, built by the amazing Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship and their many volunteers. Enjoy excellent trout fishing at Lake Davis, known for its calm waters and serene shoreline. We have plenty of room for your trailered fishing boat as well. Keep your eyes on the sky — bald eagles, osprey, and other incredible wildlife are often spotted around the lake and nearby on the property as well.Beautiful little cabin that overlooks the meadow towards Eureka Peak and Smith Peak. One bedroom with a king bed, bathroom, and shower. The kitchen has a functional sink and faucet, an air fryer, and a double hot plate. There is a couch, a loveseat, and a kitchen table. Very comfortable for two people, but can sleep up to three people, maybe four.
