Meadow Farm is a quiet and creative sanctuary surrounded by the forest. The ocean breezes freshen the air and the pulse of the planet is heard as the surf sounds travel to put us to rest at night.. We are a place for people experimenting with the new old ways to live with low impact and conservation of our precious resources. We offer affordable accommodations, organic gardening, and education on plants and living simply. We welcome your interest in veganic garden and diet, orchards, and forest trails. Our organic vegetables and fruit may be available if you wish to bring some of our farm to your table. We can offer you a quiet and peaceful place without social pressures if you wish to "decompress" from city life, jobs or any stressful times. Or come to the communal fire near the bathhouse for sharing some time with family and the few other campers that may be there. Bringing your own wood is welcome. The coastal bike and hike trails are many. From South of Ft Bragg to the Sand Dunes near Ward Ave. you can travel over 7 miles one way and go down to quiet little beach coves along the way. Meadow Farm is a nonprofit 501c3 with goals of coastal food security, disaster preparation and sheltering, carbon sequestering and forest restoration. We offer native plant tours on or off site with advance notice. We like our dog companions! Two McNab collies, Moxie and Shama live here and may bark at first...still very friendly and social with people and other dogs.. There are several dog friendly off-leash areas such as, Noyo North Harbor Beach, Seaside Beach and dog parks in both Ft Bragg and Mendocino. Our farm is dog friendly tho we wish pets to be kept close, must be neutered and friendly to other dogs and people. Please be sure to bury or bag the waste. Speaking of waste, Meadow Farm strives to reduce waste by avoiding plastic as much as possible, recycling what we can and composting our veggie scraps. Please bring your own waste receptacles and take them along when you go. We take ours to the Caspar Transfer Station which is open Saturday through Wednesday... the location and hours can be found online. Our water is from a deep well and we periodically test it for bacteria. It is cold and delicious. Our irrigation pipes that have spigots and hoses at each camp are safe for drinking, cooking and cleaning Our solar pump moves water into storage tanks that provide all the water to the farm. It is very important that the water valves on your camp spigot is turned off (gently please) to avoid losing 2500 gallons of water in a short time. If you see a leak or break in a line please contact us immediately. There are also water shut offs for the camps on the west side of the Farm House if you are unable to reach us right away.. When doing dishes we request that you use the strainer to catch food particles from the dish water and toss them in your trash or compost bucket. If you have vegetable waste let us know and we can pick them up for adding to the worm bins or composting piles. We make worm "tea" fertilizer and rich soil from these offerings. No animal products or oil please... a few egg shells are okay. We do have the usual wildlife though we haven't had problems with them. Ravens will raid your camp if food or bags are left out while you are away. From dusk to dawn keep children and pets close. We coexist well here with the critters...and glad to have them. Just a mile and half from the spectacular Mendocino coastline. Hear the ocean surf and owls on quiet nights, Walk the lane to the Meadow Farm Garden and take a tour or walk  the Forest Trail  with a guide to see the beauty of the Redwoods, Grand Firs, Manzanitas, Huckleberries and other native plants. This is a very clean and safe site with access to electricity, water and wi-fi.  Note that it does not have outdoor facilities such as toilet, shower or tables. It is meant for RVs that are otherwise contained. We welcome you to Meadow Farm. One of a kind and newly available for you to come for a relaxing stay.

The Cozy Cabin:  ( If you book this Cabin please read this throughly. :) This is really a cheery and comfy little bedroom cabin See the garden through your window at this little bedroom cabin. The Cabin lives up to its name "Cozy". It is perfect for a solo or couple’s weekend getaway.  Surrounded by the peaceful meadow and garden it feels like you’re in the middle of the countryside...which you are...however, the town and ocean are just a couple of minutes away. If you read no more: Please bring queen size bedding and towels. If you forget or can't provide your own let us know as soon as possible. Please take your trash/recycle when you vacate. Bring flashlights! This is the only place on the farm that has use of the Community house (modest) bathroom and communal resident kitchen (about 75' away from the cabin). (as of 10/25/24 we are replacing the water heater, so hot showers are at the camp bathhouse until the plumber can do it) The kitchen is for light use and plant-based foods only. (storage, prep or eating). In other words. please do not bring animal products,  A picnic table could be used to prepare your food with your camp stove. We have provided the cabin with a small fridge and an electric tea pot and cups. The town of Ft Bragg is just a couple of miles away and provides a wide variety of menus.  The Cozy Cabin has the bed, a chest of drawers, and a bookshelf for your use. The Cabin is decorated with artwork using natural materials. A small electric heater adds the warmth first thing in the morning, if needed. The woodstove became a safety issue and always made the place too hot for comfort anyway, so it is there but not used at this time. On the small porch of the cabin you have the opportunity to journal, draw, or just enjoy the forest view. You can often spot a deer, turkeys or a rabbit from there.  You might want to bring camp chairs for outside the cabin..  You can charge some electric devices in the Cabin. It is on a solar array iwhich we have upgraded recently. It is still good to be prepared with flashlights and batteries or solar lanterns. We have solar lights along the path to the house. A little more about Meadow Farm: The cabin sits inside a 6-Acre Agricultural Easement, we call The Meadow, surrounded by tall trees. This 28 acres is under the direction of a Vision, Mission and Aims and a board of directors of this 501c3 nonprofit. You can find out more about our working veganic farm in a search for at Meadow Farm. org.  Also "Word of Mouth Mendo.com magazine featured Meadow Farm this Fall 2022 issue. A copy to view is in the top dresser drawer. We are honored to have a great variety of wildlife around the farm. You can spot or hear wild turkeys, deer, eagles, hawks, birds of all kinds, rabbits, foxes and many more - often right from the cabin windows.  The property is quiet. At night you can fall asleep with the sounds of the ocean surf, owl hoots and maybe coyotes in the distance..  We are fortunate to share a home with bears and mountain lions, too. Though we rarely see or know they are here. They want to leave us alone but keeping food secure in your vehicle is a good policy. Please be aware of your surroundings especially at night. A strong flashlight and a look around is a good policy. We receive delicious, fresh water from a well on the property and make use of solar power for our daily electricity needs. We value conserving water. So report any leaks, take short showers and turn off the faucet when brushing teeth...you know the drill!.  A campfire is only permitted in one area of the farm and may be shared with other campers and residents. Please ask in advance if this is something you would like. Please do not hesitate to message us if you have further questions. We warmly welcome you to be our guests at Meadow Farm.

Cozy Cabin at The Garden
The Cozy Cabin is tiny and adorable - one of those rare properties that is actually exactly as described in its listing. We brought our dog and had a lovely stay. The bed is very comfortable, the cabin is well insulated, well spaced from other dwellings and campsites, the land around it is beautiful, and there are lots of stars to see on a clear night. Only noteworthy flaw was upon arrival: it was pretty tough to find our way in the dark. Arrive in the daylight if possible until they add clearer night-reflective signage and/or a detailed campsite map!

Quiet spot for the RV. Easily fit our 25 foot airstream but disconnected the truck. Nice paved bike trail along the coast right next to Glass Beach. Visited the Schnaubelt Distillery and enjoyed a flight of their liquor and cocktails!

Turkey Tail Camp
We've camped here 2x now and have been lucky enough to have been the only campers there both times when we've gone in the off season. A fabulous time to visit. Sojourna was welcoming. We appreciate: - the absolute quiet...simply unbelievable that some place can be so quiet. We really love the break from loud passing cars, bumping music and even airplanes. Complete bliss. - the shower set up is above grade. Having stayed a number of hip camps, it's amazing how many places don't have a dry area to change and also, hooks! This has it all. We have the same propane heater in our home outdoor shower. - the composting toilet area is clean and perfectly set up. Spacious and airy. We love Mendocino and will definitely be back.

I enjoyed the nature the silence of the camp ground. The host was very nice and friendly. She reached out few times to make sure we r doing well. Kevin was also very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

We had the place to ourselves and it was lovely. The tent space was level and potable water was easily accessible. There were a table, chairs, and sun umbrella at the space which was so convenient. The compostable toilets were also a nice touch. The bathhouse was lovely and we were grateful for the Castile soap tho we brought our own. Definitely take advantage of the veggie option. We loved having an assortment of farm-fresh veggies to complement our meals. The campsite struck a balance of both feeling like we were away from hustle and bustle yet only being 10 minutes from the heart of Ft. Bragg. We will definitely be back!

A beautiful meadow, surrounded by forests and a view of the organic gardens. Luxuries include fresh well water onsite, table and chairs, prep table, extremely clean composting toilet and warm shower with changing room. We camped at Turkey Tail which is farthest away from the bath house, but really everything is a close walk. Natural forest provides privacy between the campsites and it was very peaceful and quiet. Bonus if you stay during the full moon. Meadow Farm is ideally located just a short drive to the coast, Fort Bragg, Caspar and about 20 minutes from Mendocino. Sojourna is a lovely, welcoming host. Highly recommend!

What a lovely spot. Sojourna was a very warm, engaging, and responsive host. The meadow was quiet and peaceful. Having easy access to a drinking showers, a warm shower, and a toilet amidst camping was awesome! And it was exciting to touch base with such an intentional community.

Second time staying here and love it. Super easy to find and feels isolated enough while being close to town and beaches. Having a warm private shower is super nice and a site that’s pretty private from the rest. Only thing I will say and this might be just during summer you can hear the skunk train whistle late thru the night and early morning. Didn’t bother me but if you’re a light sleeper you might get woken up. Will definitely be back again.

Lovely rural spot. I was with my 9 year old daughter driving from Seattle to San Diego. We only stayed for a quick overnight on the way South. Easy to find. Hosts responsive. Loved the bathhouse. All in all a good stay.

We loved Meadow farm and the peaceful atmosphere there. We watched the fog roll in in the evening, we played frisbee in the grass, and enjoyed being surrounded by trees. Sojourna let us move to one of the spots on the meadow (no hookups for the RV, but it's a much nicer spot up there!). Thanks Sojourna!

200% would stay again! So quiet and peaceful! Rustic but with every need met. Jo’s cabin was warm and comfortable with hooks galore. Potable running water in an outside sink with a large counter top attached, 2 picnic tables with umbrellas, 2 composting toilets, AND an outdoor but enclosed hot shower. No crowds, noise, or nuisance to deal with.

I stayed at Jo’s Cabin with my two teenage sons. The took the cabin and I slept on a cot outside. It was lovely. The two picnic tables and sink/dishwashing/food prep station made camp cooking so much easier! The showers were hot and the compostable toilets easy, clean and no-smell. Sojourna was so kind and knowledgeable. We took advantage of the forest walk and the garden tour. We learned lot about how they are nurturing the 2nd growth redwood forest and using sustainable garden techniques on the farm. The spot was very peaceful and quiet. We would definitely go back!

This has been one of my favorite camping experiences! Normally when you go to a campground or any kind of camping place, there is a lot of competition and neighbors, and you can have someone not too far from your left or right, but this is different. You can rent cabins as well, which we will try to do next year, but the actual campground for tents are away from the RV's and cabins, and there are only 3 spots, which means at most you'll have 2 neighbors. The toilet / shower situation was really great, clean, and hygienic, and the water hose that's attached to your lot also helps. The hosts are also dog friendly, and super nice! My fiancé and I had a pet emergency and had to spend all day at the vet during our first actual day of camping, so we had to miss it. Upon hearing this Sojourna (the host) offered us to stay an extra night with no extra charge. This was so thoughtful and considerate, and probably one of the nicest things someone has done. In our hurry to pack and leave, I accidently left the pump for the air mattress at home, and the hosts called me and provided me with one of their own to use. They were so thoughtful and considerate, and I could not imagine staying anywher else. The hospitality is not the only great thing about this place. The ground is soft, clean, and super easy to camp / sleep on. Additionally, you're only 5-8 minutes from the coast, as soon as you drive out of the camp, you're at the Beachcomber beach. You're also 5 minutes away from town. 10/10

Blue Heron Camp
We stayed 3 nights in our RV and had a great time. Surrounded by beautiful forest, we enjoyed the peacefulness of the meadow and the occasional wildlife sightings. There was water at our campsite, along with a sturdy table & cooking counter. Loved the bathhouse, too. We’ll be back again.

Red Tail Hawk Camp
We love this spot. It’s quiet, even when others are camping in nearby spots. The convenience to Fort Bragg is fantastic and the views of the fields and surrounding trees are gorgeous. The bath house and compost toilet are surprisingly pleasant to use! Very clean and well maintained. We’ve stayed here several times in our camper van and will be back!

Turkey Tail Camp
I camped alone as my sister couldn't come. I found the entire experience serene and relaxing. When I booked, I did not realize it was run by volunteers. My first night, I thought someone lived in the bigger house. I declined the garden tour because I have my own at home that's doing poorly. I didn't want to feel envious! I had my own veggies, so I declined their offer of $5 veggies. My site was large enough to fit 2 cars and 2 tents. The other sites looked similar. The shower by the site was wonderfully hot with a great stream. I would be back if it wasn't so far.

Great spot. We stayed in both Red Hawk and Blue Heron. Ground were clean and quiet. The communal fire pit worked out great. Kids loved it. The shower was a well functioning treat to have on a camping trip. Would definitely camp here again.

Great hipcamp, I loved the farm, beautiful, quiet, clean. The cleanest composting toilet I have ever seen, and I have seen many. I loved the shower cabin. Thank you, I hope to stay again.

I loved my stay. It’s a special, peaceful place. Also, after fishing all day, it is a wonderful thing to have a hot shower available! This was my second stay, and I’ll be back whenever I’m in the area.

The site is a little gem. The instructions were very clear and the site was clean. The bathhouse was walking distance and my site had ferns and wildflowers galore. The people on the property are super sweet to talk to and this campsite was super quiet. I felt safe as a solo traveler and would stay again.

Cozy Cabin at The Garden
We really enjoyed our stay! The grounds are beautiful & peaceful, and we slept better than we have in a while :) We were unsure about camping or the Cozy Cabin but in the end we were happy to have chosen the cabin. It's cozy as described, the mattress is comfortable, and the amenities are very nice to have. Would definitely stay again! One small word of warning: be prepared for your car to get dusty! The paths you ride on to get to the cabin kick up a lot of dust even when driving slow. This wasn't an issue for us at all, but for those who like their cars to be pristine, be prepared!

A nice spot, appreciate the electrical and water hook ups, well shaded with trees. But it is right next to the dirt entrance road, so every time someone drives by, you get a coating of dust. Also were not fond of the bulldozer parked about 50ft in front of our space, somewhat ruined the ambiance. The farm seems to have a lot of more secluded areas that would work out better.

Sojourna's land was peaceful and very quite. There is a beautiful garden in the middle of the land that I didn't get a chance to walk around but I would love to the next time I go out to Fort Bragg. This area is very close to the main road and the beach as well so optimally located. I was staying there before a wedding and Sojourna was very flexible with her hours, letting me stay passed the allotted check-out time.

Red Tail Hawk Camp
The campsite was really nice. The location is amazing - super close to town but feels quiet. There are several other sites on the property, but it is more spaced out than you'd get in a state park. When we arrived and saw that the compost toilet was right next to our site, we were disappointed because we are used to the bathrooms smelling at most campgrounds. We shouldn't have worried! You didn't smell a thing even when in the bathroom. And the hot shower was an added bonus. Would totally stay here again!
