Octagon
The architecture of the octagon is beyond stunning. Stayed the perfect temperature all day and night (didn’t even need the space heater they provided) and the bed was super comfortable. The kitchen/bathroom building also felt really clean and thoughtfully put together. Already planning my next stay!

Octagon
The octagon was beautiful! This was such a special place and a great home base to explore the coast. It’s exactly as pictured, except even more beautiful, especially the starry night sky and morning sunset. You can tell how much thought and care went into building this place. Thank you Paul for hosting a wonderful visit!

Locus Solus
Really beautiful, very private property located just above Point Arena. We never met Paul but our group really enjoyed the octagon and campsite.

Locus Solus
Very private, very beautiful!
This is possibly the most private campsite I’ve ever had! We did not see another person the whole weekend, though no one was staying at the octagon building (which is gorgeous by the way). We had a lovely time at a very beautiful site surrounded by trees with a view that dipped into a canyon. The cool fog rolled in at night but rolled out mid day allowing us to enjoy the sun for a bit. It did get cold and windy in the evenings and mornings so bundle up. Like some other reviewers, we pitched 1 tent and 1 slept in the car in the parking area which is flat, and used the lower spot as our hang space which was perfect and also made the space feel bigger. Our two small dogs enjoyed being off leash and having the freedom to play in the field. We could also take them for walks down the gravel road. The only downside was the Point Arena Rod and Gun club is across the valley so we heard guns shooting for a bit both days, and my dog is noise reactive (shakes for hours), so keep that in mind. Driving to town for the best fish and chips at the restaurant at the wharf was a breeze! We brought 5 gallon bucket toilets which are cheap and easy to buy on Amazon. But if they added a compost toilet for the camping site, that would take it up another notch!
