Canyon Views, Ravine, Farm
If you love expansive canyon views and farm animals, this is the campsite for you. The hosts are a wonderful, hospitable, social family, and will introduce you to their pigs, hens, rabbits, goats, horse, bee hives, and more! The site we stayed on is a simple but large patch of land overlooking the canyon, next door to the pig pen. Don't worry, you'll hardly notice the pigs are there except for the occasional snort and occasional whiff. And you'll get to watch them feed the pigs in the morning!
This is a great place to get away from it all, perfect for campers who love the solitude and are prepared for the primitive nature of a no-facilities site. We loved how quiet and remote the property is (no reception to get those pesky emails), and we loved learning about each of the farm animals on the site. The stars at night are incredibly bright, and the sunset and sunrise over the canyon is beautiful. We brought a tent, fold up table and chairs, camp stove, food, and water, and were lucky enough to get some farm-fresh eggs and thick-cut bacon from our generous hosts to make breakfast. They also make honey, soap, and lip balm from the farm! They're working on clearing the other sites which are more secluded, away from the animals, and looked like they have a little more shade too. We had a great time, and we'd definitely recommend it, especially for campers who are a little more familiar with primitive and dispersed camping.
