Huckleberry Haven currently features TWO sites: FIRST is the Camp Deck for your tents in the forest. Pitch your tent on a dry and flat redwood deck. Surrounded by huckleberries (in season July-Nov), fir, pine and redwood trees and adjacent to Salt Point State Park and Kruse Rhododendron State Preserve. Deck site has basic amenities: potable well water, fire ring (PROPANE only, bring your own fire ring, as we are now in fire season), picnic table, and an outhouse. SECOND is the small RV or teardop/Van camping parking spot. (no tents) This site is near the top of our grassy meadow, with glorious forest views, on dry gravel, and features a picnic table & outhouse. It does not have a campfire facility, nor water. You're welcome to bring your own propane fire & cooking source, but NO open wood fires due to grassy fire hazards. Property is situated at 800' above sea level (usually above the fog) across the road from the Stump Beach trailhead in Salt Point State Park - which, from our driveway, is a 2 mile hike or bike ride down to the beach. Enjoy quiet solitude of one of the most private and quiet places on the Sonoma Coast. Avoid the crowds of Salt Point, with all the basic amenities you expect. Birdwatch, play frisbee golf, hunt for mushrooms, basecamp your hikes, runs or mountain bike rides in Salt Point, or use Huckleberry Haven as the central spot to innumerable road bike rides on empty roads. The choice is yours! Special note: Huckleberry Haven is on the edge of some great wilderness! We have all sorts of wildlife sauntering by, and certainly have for decades. We recommend taking precautions to avoid interacting with curious/hungry wildlife - Don't sleep with your food in the tent, and keep camp tidy! We know there to be black bears, mountain lions, bobcats, foxes, racoons, skunks and so forth. Mountain Lions tend to avoid us, but you'll want to check on best practices to avoid bear interactions. Huckleberry Forest Deck Campsite features a 19' x 23' redwood camping deck for your tents and cots. The deck was constructed from a redwood tree we milled on-site, and we reused the historic water tank foundations for the deck supports. The deck is situated on a gentle slope and is intended to be where you pitch your tents, as the surrounding area is gently sloping (imperfect for tents). A fire pit is nearby, with ample fresh/potable water. We encourage you to bring firewood & matches, though you're also welcome to gather dead wood nearby, as thinning the forest is a fire-safe goal of ours. A clean outhouse is a short walk from the site. Parking is available for 2 vehicles a short 75 yard walk from the campsite. If you have a van or RV, you're welcome to overnight in the parking area which is nearly flat. We don't recommend bringing a trailer. Huckleberry camp is situated in the southwest corner of our 20 acre family ranch. You may encounter us, or our friends visiting the main house, but you'll feel like you have the place to yourself. We value quiet and privacy. *A note on capacity: The deck is 19'x23' and intended for two tents and 4-6 people. There is not much flat space for additional tents nearby. If you're looking to bring the maximum 8 people, please plan to shoehorn tents, sleeping bags and/or cots onto the deck. The campsite/sleep-site *is* the deck. *A note on food prep: Highly recommend you bring a folding table and chairs, and we also provide a redwood picnic table. *Mosquitos! Yes. Be advised that they are around in the spring & summer time. We recommend you bring long sleeves, pants, and repellent.

A RV/Van-camping parking spot near the top of our orchard with glorious forest views surrounding. Huckleberry Parking spot has a picnic table only. *Only* for Vans, Short RVs and small teardrop trailers, as our rural road is narrow, and not advisable for long wheelbases & trailers. *Steep driveway apron will not allow long wheelbases* The Huckleberry Park & Camp site is new to our property, and we *have an outhouse!* a short walk up the hill from the parking spot (follow solar lighting) You are welcome to bring propane appliances, such as outdoor fireplace. No wood burning fires, please. There is *not* a campfire ring due to the proximity to our grassy meadow. Water is currently NOT available, so plan to bring your water. *Mosquitos! Yes. Be advised that they are around. We recommend you bring long sleeves, pants, and repellent. *Please make every effort to arrive before dark to make parking and lay-of-the-land easy for yourself.

Booked the RV site at the last minute. Jake was accommodating and provided all pertinent info prior to arriving to the site. It was really easy to get to the property in our campervan. Instructions were easy to follow to the site. Beautiful view of the forest surrounding you. There is a picnic table and benches in a huge open space but we had everything we needed from our van. Outhouse was as clean as it gets and not a far walk from our site. There were so many stars at night!

We had the most magical weekend here. The listing was accurate, Jake had clear signage for everything, and the deck made for the most cozy glamping situation. Would come back here in a heartbeat! The drive up from the Bay Area was gorgeous, and we stopped at Salt Point SP on the way back. The site felt private, and was nestled in a circular clearing of trees, so at night you could look up a direct pathway to the starry heavens :) Definitely recommend harvesting huckleberries for pancakes. Thanks for everything Jake!

We stayed just for night at the RV site with two rigs (Westfalia and Tacoma) that fit in the spot easily with minimal leveling needed. Our friends had booked the deck spot. It was easy to go back and forth between the two camp sites. I'm glad we had the deck site reserved too since it got very sunny and hot at the rv site in the morning. Cute and peaceful place!

The best camp site I’ve ever stayed at. The redwoods and huckleberry bushes were beautiful. The deck was perfect for some morning yoga and the toilet rooms were very clean. I definitely recommend this site.

We had a lovely time at Huckleberry Haven. There were tons of berries to pick, the platform to set our tents was really nice, and the area was peaceful and quiet. We'd definitely stay again

This place was great! It was very clean, both campsites have their own outhouses, the deck was super cool, and there are some little trails to explore. Jake was very quick to respond to any of my questions. Had a great time!

Would not recommend the site for RV/tent. Nearby there was a lot of dog poop. Outhouse was near cars parked at the tent deck site, so it was very far. for us and not clearly marked or labeled. We had a rooftop tent and had plans to stay there over the Fourth of July weekend. We drove to a different campground nearby and chose to stay there instead.

The place is great! There is a good trail that is within the property, highly recommend it to be explored. Thank you for having us at your property. The biggest downside for me was the absence of firepit, its' absence (for me) generally makes the biggest difference between an okay and a great camping experience. This is the ONLY campsite on our road trip from San Diego to Crescent City that didn't have campfire.

This is a great spot! I had the area all to myself. Very quiet. A little buggy but it’s in the woods so that’s to be expected. Even had cell service (Verizon)! I would definitely recommend this spot.

This place was perfect. A nice warm & sheltered retreat just a short (& fun) drive from the shoreline. The place was beautifully kept, the outhouse / bathroom was well equipped with lime and toilet paper, and the picnic table, benches, chairs, and deck were immaculate. 10/10, would stay again!

Lovely place. The deck separated our clean, organized tent from our slightly scattered picnic table. It was also more comfortable to sleep on in comparison to uneven terrain. Shady spot with a little bit of sunshine. Many scenic hiking trails nearby. Beware of the mosquitoes.

Beautiful, peaceful property and great place to relax and spend time walking quietly in the forest. Our dogs loved their exploring and we thoroughly enjoyed picking and eating fresh huckleberries and blackberries! Hope to return sometime!

Great spot for soaking in a little bit of nature. Lovely campsite with everything you need. Easy access to Kruse Rhododendron State Natural Reserve. The Hiking down and back to Stump Beach for a great daytime adventure.

Honestly, the site was even better than described. Plenty of firewood around, there’s a picnic table and chairs, and the whole experience felt super secluded and relaxing. Thanks so much we would definitely like to come back!

Great spot. Communication was good, directions were perfect. The spot was exactly as advertised, no unpleasant surprises. The RV spot is absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. We had three days of beautiful weather, inland was 97* & the coast was blowing 20-25 mph but Huckleberry was calm and warm. Lots and lots of natural beauty to see and listen to. We walked down the road to the KR Preserve and got to enjoy more natural beauty and also bluejays yelling at a bobcat that needed to share the road with us. Awes

I was trying to book a last-minute camping spot, and I’m thrilled to say I found Jake’s place! It was available on the same day I wanted, and he responded super quickly to my request. He even shared all the details with me. The place is really nice and clean, and it’s super quiet. You’ll have your own restroom, table, and chairs. Oh, and I want to mention that Jake helped me jump my car when I woke up in the morning. That was so kind and helpful of him! I’m so excited about this visit, and I’ll definitely be back. Thanks a bunch, Jake!

Had the best time camping here for my birthday!! The site was sheltered from the winds down on the coast with great proximity to kruse and salt point. Will 100% be camping here again. :)

I had a wonderfully peaceful weekend at Jakes campsite deck. At first, I was a bit concerned about the number of mosquitoes – they were everywhere. (this is the forest there will be mosquitoes. ) Thankfully, once I remembered that smoke deters them, I lit a fire around 9 AM, and the problem disappeared. There was plenty of firewood in the area to keep it going, and even when the fire wasn’t burning, the mosquitoes stayed away. (Problem solved) I brought my cat along, a curious little explorer, and she had the best time roaming through the forest and foliage. The deck was a perfect spot to set up our tent, and the whole area was beautifully quiet. I loved waking up to the sound of birds and falling asleep to the distant echo of woodpeckers. Jake was very helpful and quick to answer any questions I had. I believe we had the whole place to ourselves, which only added to the tranquility and quiet. Definitely looking forward to another visit. Thank you, Jake for opening up your beautiful land and deck for this peaceful experience.

Perfect cozy campsite in the woods. We loved the deck for easy tent pitching, and the fire ring amd table were well placed for cooking and relaxing. The outhouse was very clean and pleasant to use. 10 out of 10!
