Rural 160 acre homestead property located in the mountains of the Mojave Desert, next to the Deep Creek Hot Springs. This off the grid property is surrounded by 1,000s of acres of undeveloped BLM and US Forestry land, providing endless views of the San Bernardino mountains and high desert scenery, Numerous hiking and OHV offroad trails right off the property. The 6 mile dirt road can be bumpy, but a 4WD isa not necessary. Low profile vehicles and large trailers Park your car, truck/trailer or RV right at one of our developed campsites that has a patch of turf, picnic tables and fire pits (grills available). Flushing toilets, pits toilets, potable water, and showers on site. *Warning! The hike to the Deep Creek Hot Springs is fairly steep and can be difficult for some people, especially in warm weather, so everyone’s physical fitness needs to be considered when deciding to hike to the hot springs with pets, children, elderly people, or out-of-shape/over-weight people in your group. Even though Deep Creek has never had any known cases of amoeba outbreaks, be advised that the warm waters around hot springs can carry a sometimes fatal amoeba. *Although children are permitted at most sites on the property (children are not permitted at the cabin or spring pool sites), we do not recommend bringing them due to occasional nudity that may be seen in the area and the degree of difficulty for the hike. In order to be prepared with the correct gear to make the hike to the hot springs and know the USFS rules that apply to the area, please educate yourself before coming by visiting the USFS website page for the Deep Creek area. Know before you go! The Deep Creek Hot Springs Campground is part of the historic Bowen Ranch property that was homesteaded in 1924 and has been the camping and parking area for the Deep Creek Hot Springs for nearly a century. Situated at the edge of the San Bernardino Mountains in the Mojave Desert, and located 6 miles off the pavement in a rural part of the Apple Valley Highlands, this 160 acre property is the perfect place to escape the city and get back to nature! Camp and be surrounded by a beautiful landscape of desert chaparral, sage brush and Joshua trees mixed with Juniper and pinyon woodland areas that contains rare plants and animals unique only to this area. And just a 40 minute hike away from your campsite is the Deep Creek Hot Springs, where 6 natural lithium hot spring pools await. Besides hiking to the hot springs, the nearby area provides a plethora of sports and leisure activities to enjoy, such as hunting, fishing, gold panning, off-roading and more. You will surely enjoy visiting our property with all of the things to see and do nearby. The property is completely off the grid and depends on generators and solar power for electricity. There is potable water from a 300 ft deep well located on the property. Campsites are dispersed and spacious, with picnic tables and fire pits (BBQ grills are available upon request). Campsites by the main trailhead have a patch of grass turf, and a pit toilet and solar showers located nearby. Free solar showers are available in warmer months, and instant hot water showers are available all year round. Firewood, cold drinks, snacks, and breakfast sold on site. Secluded areas, large group sites, and event venue areas available for rent.

Come camp out in the mountains of the high desert amongst ancient Junipers intermingled with Joshua trees and Sages, in a spiritual place that allows you to easily connect with nature. Our property is surrounded by thousands of acres of undeveloped land managed by the U.S. Forestry and B.L.M., just outside of the city’s influence with no light or sound pollution, our property makes for a relaxing getaway. Campsites are huge and can generally accommodate 6 cars or more. Guests will park right at their campsite, where there is a picnic table and a fire pit. Firewood is for sale on site, $10 for a huge bundle. Potable water spigots, flushing toilets and instant hot water showers located in camp area. Drinks and snacks are available at the office, and breakfast is served on the weekends. The hike to the local hot springs for a relaxing soak in one of the 6 hot pools and a dip in the cold creek is the highlight of the area for most visitors. Besides hiking to the Deep Creek Hot Springs, OHV riding, gold panning, fishing, and exploring the Pacific Crest Trail off of the property, visitors can enjoy watching the wildlife and clear night sky, or ride one of the 3 Ziplines on the right on the property. While children are permitted to be on the property, we do not recommend bringing children due to the occasional nudity that can be commonly seen around hot springs and because of the difficulty of the hike. *Guests can be textile free at their campsite and at the hot springs.

Had a great visit this past weekend! Friendly staff was there at check-in who gave me the run down of the campsite. The hike to the springs is a must! Make sure you go early so that you have plenty of time to spend in the water.

I loved my time at deep creek it was a great hike and there is a rec tent with activities in the evening. A hit tub a sauna and a pool table. It was a wonderful experience. I look forward to coming back and checking out their glamping tents.

Such a remote and beautiful spot. The winter air so crisp and clean, the hike absolutely gorgeous and the campsites clean and simple! The canyon where the hot springs are is stunning and rugged. The hosts were friendly and informative. We felt safe and relaxed. Would go again in a heartbeat—but probably not in the summer! Loved it

Very cool spot if you like to boondock. Very private which we love. The hot springs hike was just an added bonus. We’ll be back again.

There are many good, flat places to set up camp. Each site has a picnic bench and a fire pit. Bathrooms are ok. Bring your own toilet paper. Get to the site early to pick a site. The place filled up in the afternoon and people were driving around looking for places to set up. You can purchase firewood on site. The hike to the hot springs and back was good. The way there is down hill and it’s pretty steep coming back up. The hot springs were packed with families and dogs and lots of naked men. You need to cross a cold stream to get to the hot springs. I wasn’t impressed with the hot springs. Definitely not relaxing or peaceful. But the camp site was exactly what I was looking for.

I suggest going to the property before using hip camp. Hip camp fee is based on a campsite. When you get there, the fee is based per person. They also have more than campsites available. The people are friendly. I went Labor Day weekend. Although the campsites are well spaced apart, the sounds of festivities were carried in the wind. Definitely wishing I was part of them. 😊 It was late and I was too tired to be friendly. I was also told about there being clothing optional at the hot springs and on the property. It did not bother me. I am female, traveling alone, with my dog. I felt safe. The only thing I would have done different was to arrive earlier in the day. The last 5 dirt miles is bumpy, with some big rocks. I drive a Hyundai Accent, and did not have any problems. I only stayed the night. I will plan to return when I can explore the hotel springs more.

A great stay! Staff were kind and welcoming and spots were beautiful. Spots are not assigned so would recommend getting their earlier in the day if you have specific spot preferences. We also brought our dog who had plenty of room to explore removed from other sites or hikers.

Directions on web page helped with the photos. Showers are great during evening hours. Bees are harmless and less active in evening. Campsite has their own picnic table and rock fire pit which added more to the amenities for relaxation under the stars. Thank you.

This was my first time camping alone, and it was a wonderful experience. When I arrived, I was greeted by Joe who helped me navigate where to go. There was only one other camper that was pretty far away from me when I arrived so it felt really secluded but at the same time I also felt safe. If you are an avid hiker, then you won’t necessarily find the hike thattttt hard. Be sure to pack a shit ton of water tho!! It’s more steep uphill on the way back imo.

Do not book on Hipcamp. You can get a site for half the price day-of. I arrived to the property saying that I had a reservation and no one had a clue what I was talking about. After the check in dude located Jessica, she passionately exclaimed “it’s that fucking website I keep telling you about. Figure it out.” Anyways, the other host kept emphasizing that it was clothing optional and made it a point to tell me about the orgies and gloryhole adventures on the other side of the camp. Also he refused to give me a map that he said he did have. “Come back tomorrow morning and I’ll show you to the springs.” Yeah no. If you like a tinge of weird sex cult vibes and hard drugs in the air, this place is for you .

Hike Soak & Sauna Weekend Retreat
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming campsite, and it was truly a breath of fresh air! The journey to the camp was surprisingly smooth, thanks to a well-packed dirt road that was perfectly manageable in our non-4WD vehicle. Upon arrival, we were greeted with immediate and friendly service that made us feel right at home from the get-go. The campsites themselves are thoughtfully spaced, offering plenty of privacy and tranquility. For those eager to explore, there’s a convenient parking spot closer to the trailhead for the hot springs hike—an enticing 45-minute downhill trek that begins with a brisk crossing of a cold river. Despite a bit of wind and a sprinkle of rain during our mid-April visit, the natural beauty of the area shone through. Do note, for those new to the experience, that you may encounter some nudity on the hike to the hot springs—it’s all part of the natural, free-spirited vibe of the place!

Awesome property. Great trails with access to clean bathrooms and showers. Bring lights because it gets dark. The people were reliable and I love that they were selling on-site snacks, wood and water. Wish I got to try the tacos!

Miss. Jessica and the team is amazing. The directions were exact. Our camping area was large and spacious! The hot showers and sinks made the trip comfy. The winds though, very fun! Lol I would highly recommend rope, and a good amount of stakes to ensure your canopies/tents do not fly. The zip line was well worth it! Highly recommend this place for anyone to get away and unplug. Highly recommend the hike to deep creek. Bring lots of water and a a solid pair of hiking shoes. Mid day hike can get pretty hot. Other than that, a great way to unplug from society. Thank you again to Miss. Jessica and the team!

I took my 15 year old daughter here for fathersday weekend. It was her fist camping and hiking experience and it went really well! We actually got Wi-Fi at our site the whole time and with it directions but the hosts directs are worth having. Met some nive folks there and while everyone had fun no one was overly rowdy or kept us up. Had great star gazing, fire pit, view. After sunset the wind dropped to nothing and made for a great night and Sunday. Only 80 at noon so we lucked out. The trail and Deep Creek location are great fun. There was a few people taking up the clothing optional at the creek but nothing bad - the vibe was friendly. Take snacks, water and good shoes the hike is on the harder side. Will be back - the host Jessica was very welcoming and helpful. Great stay! Thank you!

I couldn’t say enough great things about this spot! The owners are so sweet, & there is so much land to camp & roam around! We of course came for the hot springs, the hike is around 40 minutes from the campgrounds. Once you get there, you are greeted by others enjoying the creek! Lots of fun rock jumping, relaxing in the hot springs, & exploring the terrain. We saw wild coyote & then a bull early in the morning roaming around the property. Will definitely be coming back!!

Loved the campground. Quiet and Remote. Deep Creek hike was so Amazing. Awesome views and stargazing.. Glad I brought a bucket toilet though pit toilets a bit of a walk.

great area! i recommend taking pictures of all the directions before you leave, and definitely bring good shoes if you plan to hike to the hot springs. There were definitely a few spots where it would be easy to make a wrong turn in both situations, but overall great time and helpful people!

Great spot! We got there early and got a nice secluded camping space that had a turf square, rock fire pit, and picnic table. The hike to the hot spring’s wasn’t too bad about 1.5ish it’s a lot of direct sun so remember that! The host was very nice. Clean spot would definitely come back

I was impressed with the hike and the hot springs but I was not impressed with the overall experience, especially with the hosts. The communication was very minimal and I did not hear back from the host until after my stay. When I had questions about the pricing breakdown and what not, I was left without answers. The hot springs were beautiful and the hike was a bit challenging- but very worth it. I will say that the amenities were overly advertised and when I arrived I did not see a lot of what was advertised or described on Hipcamp. For example, I never saw any showers and the taco truck didn’t appear to be running. Also- when my friend used the bathroom there wasn’t any toilet paper, so the worker gave him a wet wipe because they did not have toilet paper. The site itself I thought was overpriced for the actual experience. The communication was very much lacking with the host which I was also disappointed in. Overall, the campsite was really cool and the hot springs were amazing. We also met some really chill people at the campsite, but the overall experience with the host and what was advertised could have been a lot better.

It was a really great experience overall. A couple things to make your trip better - there are showers and next to the showers you can find potable water to fill your bottles. - technically you can drink the hot spring water from the source and cool it in the stream but we eanted to bring our own water. You will sweat a lot and tey to bring at least 1 gallon of water per person for the round trip to the hot springs - potable water and shower water is control with a main valve. We only lifted the valve half way up and thought there was no water left. Make sure to pull it up all the way. - glamping site has better amenities in terms of accessibility.
