We don’t like to give bad reviews as we appreciate people opening their properties to campers, but unfortunately we would not recommend this place at all. We were on a road trip and booked this site and arrived about 2 hours later. The site was right next to a very busy road and the ground was completely covered in those sticky round prickly weeds, so our dog could not step foot outside and we also had to be careful. We could not stay there as it was too loud and inhospitable. It felt like we were broken down on the side of the highway. We immediately contacted the host and politely tried to discuss a refund since we booked just 2 hours in advance and she had no other guests. She refused to respond to our 5 messages over the next couple days. We aren’t afraid of rustic places but this was just an inhospitable dirt patch on the side of the road next to a portapotty. The only redeeming quality was the small field of grapes on the hillside.

Beautiful Stopover in Paso Robles!

We car camped on Ashley's beautiful land as we were driving up towards Big Sur. The site is within a pretty vineyard that was wonderful to wake up to, and the stars were shining brightly above us as we slept. Location was great too - very close to the center of town. And we even had a mishap in the morning when our car didn't start ... Ashley was super helpful and had a neighbor come quickly to our rescue.

Spectacular stay in the vineyard

Great spot if you are self sufficient. My son and I were on a three week road trip, sleeping in our minivan with everything that we need, so Ashley's spot was perfect. The camp site is nestled among the vineyards! To be clear, you are near a road that is used for commuting, you will hear traffic, but it's not stop and go and it's not constant. It's people heading to work in town or heading to work out in the vineyards. We arrived in August, and the temps were high, thankfully we have USB powered fans which made the difference. The sunsets & sunrise's were spectacular. Protips; park your vehicle so the table is in shade in the morning. It gets sunny and hot, Stop by the VP station in town for fuel, amazing breakfast burritos (except on Sunday's) in which case you can cross the street to the Paso Robles Cafe. At night visit the Downtown City Park, its well lit, beautiful and an amazing cross section of Paso Robles, the playground is pretty awesome. Stop at Albertsons and get a 2 gallon jug of water, the self dispensing type, then you will have water on your picnic bench for cooking and washing hands.

Overall it was a great experience the hosts even offered us to stay on top of the hill that the vineyard is on. Because of the massive rains that Paso has seen recently getting to the booked site would’ve been too challenging with our Tesla. Once they have a chance to grate the path again it will be a great spot again!

First time using hip camp. Loved it

Very easy to access. Very nice host. Pretty flat. Road access and camp spot is next to a road so you could hear cars at night but not bad. Vines were very pretty and in canyon that was not windy. Cute spot for my first time using platform. Very close to downtown Paso Robles and only a mile to a gas station and restaurants.

I don't like to leave less than good reviews but this is not a good site. It is on a busy major roadway with zero privacy. The site is on an incline without any flat areas. It is surrounded by a lot of broken down trucks and cars. Yes it has a view of a vineyard

I don't like to leave less than excellent reviews. The truth is that this is not a good site. It is right next to a busy roadway, it is surrounded by broken down cars and trucks and on an incline where there is absolutely no close to a flat area to park for the night.

Bring ear plugs as the site is right next to the road. Easy to get to and close to town. Would be great if the Spiky ground plants could be removed.

The big plus to the site is that you are close to 101 and to Paso Robles. The host had advised of street noise. We thought it would be Ok, but after the 1st night we decided to move because the traffic noise was constant and so it didn't make it enjoyable to sit outside and enjoy the vineyard. The porta potty sort of destroyed the ambiance as well. The site was a little difficult to find, especially when you come with a motorhome and a tow vehicle. We couldn't stop fast enough to make the turn. We had to go past, then unhook, then back track. Then the camping sit wasn't well marked. Once I received the right directions we got settled in quickly. If you can stand the road noise it was a nice spot in the vineyard

The vineyard was amazing!! Road noise was noticeable during the day but if you’re in a van or trailer, you won’t notice it at night at all! If you’re tenting it, I recommend earplugs unless you’re a heavy sleeper. Views were amazing and the privacy was awesome :)

Ashley’s campsite was perfect for our needs. The ground was level and the campsite was tucked into a corner of her small vineyard. Ashley recommended some great places to eat and sights to see. Paso Robles is a gem of a town with a town square surrounded by shops, restaurants and tasting rooms. We would definitely return to experience more of Paso Robles.

This was a nice flat spot to rest for the night. Despite it being very close to the road it was very quiet, apparently the traffic is non-existent at night. I was pretty tired so I didn't make it into Paso for the night but Ashley's location is ideal if you'd like to do that. Ashley also communicated very well and was there to greet me and provide parking instructions upon my arrival. Nice stay, I'd definitely return!!

The site is secure and easy to locate. Ashley is an excellent communicator. Wouldn’t recommend having more than 1 reservation due to size of lot (Ashley asked us if it was ok to share the site prior to us booking-we were ok with that).

It was a very helpful quick stop over, just a lot of traffic on a Saturday night (Halloween weekend) . Would suggest privacy screen on the fencing to make spot more comforting. Maybe some gravel to give the spot its own character . You are camping in with the grape vines, it is beautiful and moon setting is awesome. Cool old trucks around and hosts are very nice. Just a few miles from town, so that is helpful.

Ashley was great with communicating with us and we knew right where to go. The vineyard is beautiful and I would have loved to stay a little longer to scope it out but we had to leave early to get back on the road. The only downside was that the flattest spot by the road is literally right next to pretty traveled street. We have fans and noise machines so we were fun, but I worry about people who want to totally get away from noise, cars, etc.

As part of my dream trip across the west coast, this site was such a great place to set up camp but also be close by charming Paso Robles for an excellent meal. The hosts are very polite and accommodating and the sunset over the vineyard is epic! Can’t wait to make another stop there on my next pass through!

We arrived just in time to see the most beautiful sunset. Ashley was very helpful and responsive. It was a little noisy at night with traffic from the road, but overall we loved our stay.
