Relaxing Farm Camping Near Coast
Fun place to stay! Host was great, and having the bathroom with shower nearby in the main house was awesome. The camping spot itself is next to the house, in the small meadow, so it's not surrounded by trees but fairly level with a nice firepit. Not super private but no other people around, and great views to the adjoining nature preserve and coast. Their friendly dogs were adorable, and the sheep visited as well. The listing mentions chairs but on my stay was a nice picnic table, very handy for cooking and hanging out. A short drive to the wildlife refuge, as well as other trails. Wonderfully quiet at night. Would stay here again!

We loved the location, but it would have been helpful to know beforehand that renters who aren’t part of the host’s family also reside on the property. It was a little disconcerting to be greeted by the host’s friend who happened to be home rather than the host for example. Otherwise, we had a great time.

Beautiful and unique location
What a gorgeous stay we had at this unique setting above Humboldt Bay! Ashley and family gave us all the privacy we needed and yet were available for any need. The historic inn/home was a beautiful and historically interesting backdrop to one of the sweetest camping spots we've ever experienced. I hate to let the word out but can't help but want to share the beauty and serenity with anyone who dares to journey to the road--and camping location--less travelled.

Very expensive, no animals and shower did not work, not sure why it was priced so high.

Perfect!
This spot was a perfect home base for our trip. Welcoming people, animals & land. The views & air were restoring, the quiet & space were expansive! We had a welcome committee of dogs & goats. Lily (our youngest host) entertained us with observations & medicinal mud pies. Paco & Porter (best dogs ever) stole our hearts. Very nice that Ashley & Ed were so welcoming of our dog to be a part of the mix. Really relaxed hosts. The use of the indoor bathroom was very much appreciated. We would certainly return to this little paradise.

What a life!
I feel fortunate to be able to experience Ashley’s unique and special property! Was greeted by two fun and curious doggies who checked out everything I pulled from my car to prepare my campsite in between licking and loving each other. Later in the afternoon, the family returned home and I was able to meet Ed, who showed me around and told me the inspiring story of how they came to live here during Covid lockdowns and to offer up their home to hipcampers like me. Lily, their delightful daughter, enjoys chatting with visitors. The family kindly offered up access to their indoor bathroom (a wonderful hot shower!) and I was able to charge the devices I use for navigation and tunes. Only a single campsite is offered for hipcampers, and as a result this tent spot is peaceful and private. Enjoyed meeting the horses and goats and fed them some fruit.
