Beautiful natural campsites in the Valley of the Moon (Ojai Valley). Our sites are within an eighth of a mile of walking, running, biking, and riding trails from Ojai to the beaches of Ventura. On many days you can experience Ojai’s famous pink moments. You can hike the trails above Ojai, boat, eat, or picnic at Lake Casitas. Travel to nearby Ventura to shop, fish the pier, or take a deep sea fishing charter or Island charter to Whale watch or fish around the Channel Islands. Please note the aerial view of the camping area recently placed by Hipcamp is NOT AT ALL REPRESENTATIVE of the current camping sites and shows a photo that is many years old when the site was merely land. That photo is without any of the existing amenities or improvements. The actual sites are all Larger than Federal Park and Statepark guidelines, with averages of 20'x30' for campsites and 20'x40' for a long RVCampsite. We have planted many young trees and continue to plant trees and native shrubs around and near the sites. We have picnic tables, table coverings, fire pits, and camping rugs/footprints. There is also an outdoor shower, a shower tent with hot water, and an upgraded porta-potty with a sink. Note: During times when high heat is predicted, we strongly recommend that our Hipcampers bring pop-up shade tents or canopies for their sites. The Hipcamp is adjacent to our working ranch, and any photos of old sheds, trucks, a wood lot, or other equipment are NOT on the Hipcamp, but you will drive past that property to get to the separate Hipcamp area. Wineries, Farmer's Markets, Craft Breweries, dispensaries, and more are within 10 to 15 minutes of our site. Our location allows moments when you may see Hawks, Owls, Geese, Swallows, Robins, Bluebirds, and more. We offer both tent and RV camping. The Majority of our Guests love it here: "Vivian and Dave were exceptional hosts! Easy to contact and find our way to their property. Also gave us a plethora of places to go and things to do in the Ojai area. The area was open and spacious, and many trees and upgrades were in the works to make future stays more user-friendly. Big pluses were the shower and toilet facilities—much appreciated !!"

Loved staying here!
Overall wonderful experience at this camp site. I had my 4yr old son with me, who absolutely loved feeding the horses, sheep, and goats on the property. The hosts were more than gracious and friendly, offering a helping hand and guiding us through the farm. The only drawback in my mind was that it was an entirely communal experience. The sites are all very close together. Luckily my son had a great time playing with the other children of families camping, and no one stayed up making too much noise. I used my phone to drown out the other campers conversations as we fell asleep. So I would absolutely, 100% recommend this place to anyone, as long as you’re totally fine sharing the space👍🏼

Site 1 Jacaranda
Directions were very clear and the site itself was what we expected from the description. The sites were a bit closer together than we expected, but it wasn’t bad. There was only one outhouse and there were probably 25 or 30 campers in the total of the 6 sites. The outhouse was pretty full by the time we left. We saw a lot of cool birds including egrets and turkey vultures during our stay. The first night one of the other sites was too loud way too late, but Dave handled it well and the following night was great.

Site 1 Oak Tree
NOT AS ADVERTISED
Unfortunately not quite what they advertised. Way too expensive for what they offer especially because the property was not very well maintained. We arrived a bit early and were told our spot had just been vacated but it was full of burrs which get into everything and the surrounding property looked like driving through a storage/junk yard. We didn’t use their shower house or port-a potty so can’t speak to that other than to say it looked pretty rustic.

Site 3 Oak Grove Adjacent
Upon entry to the property it's definitely "rustic" with old vehicles and machinery scattered around. The sites are basic, some are closer together and some have more space. Site 3 was close to two other sites but we parked our van to create privacy. That said it's also furthest from the entrance so we had more open space and a decent view, though it's also closest to the main road noise. When we arrived we had to call and the son showed us to our site and answered our questions. The sites are better maintained than the rest of the property and they've planted trees which will eventually add shade. Every site has a picnic table, plastic tablecloth, fire pit, trash can and recycling. But our site was absolutely loaded with sticky burrs! Nowhere was safe and they stuck to everything: shoes, pull out rug, our dog's fur, chairs, etc, then eventually ended up inside our van. It took an hour to pick them out of everything before loading in the morning and we're still finding them. I'm sure this is seasonal as our trip was in June, but maybe raking, blowing or bagging with a lawnmower would help? The porta potty was as expected, the shower is a nice touch but had no water pressure. The owner mentioned he needed to change the water and said the propane was finicky so we got a trickle of cold water for showers. Overall it's suitable if you want quiet, convenient access to Ojai or Lake Casitas, but we've been to other Hipcamps at the same price point that take more pride in their space
