Tried to check in, we arrived at 4:30 pm not one at office. Tried the next day per instructions still no one. Campsite was very worn down with sites stacked ontop of each other. Large construction project literally across the road from us. Was a little upset this was not disclosed but whatever we got there Friday night and they wouldn't be working Saturday right? Nope, very loud sounds of construction greeted us early morning. Will not be coming back.

Always enjoy being near Lake Hamilton... the campsites are always clean...quite....close to town. Have stayed there a few times now...always friendly service. Only negative..repair the power boxes. They are dangerous.

In the middle of a trailer park

This was our first negative stay with HipCamp. There should be a disclaimer on this listing that this camp is located in the middle of a trailer park. The “gorgeous landscape” that the listing describes was nowhere to be found.
When we arrived, there was no one at the office to check us in so we drove on to our campsite. Only a few sites were labeled with numbers. We didn’t see our number, so we just picked one that suited us.
We walked to the pool to change into our suits for a swim. There were no signs on any doors, so we just kept pulling knobs until we found one that looked like a restroom.
At the pool, there were several children swimming and a foul-mouthed woman slinging F-Bombs. She was talking to someone on the phone about her soon-to-be incarcerated son committing first-degree murder.
We left the pool, hopped in our van, locked the doors & went to bed. We left very early the next morning. We couldn’t wait to leave that place.

On our last day there (which was an exceptionally hot day), we returned from a long day in the city and National Park to find we had no power. The trailer was a sauna. We are so thankful we took our dog with us that day. I doubt he would have been able to survive. We immediately contacted the park, and they immediately sent someone out. We totally understand things happen; however, when they said to apologize for the inconvenience, we will receive 15% off our next stay! Keep in mind the temperature is about 100 outside, and we still have no power, thus no ac. We said there is no way we are staying here tonight without power. They never offered to pay for our hotel. After I fused a great deal, they did return all our fees. This did almost cover our hotel stay, but in zero way compensated us for our inconvenience. In respect to full disclosure, we had only booked two nights originally and after getting there we did add an extra night. We arrived later the first day then we expected (no fault of campground in any way) and were rather tired. Plus, we did not have any children with us. If we had, we would not have stayed probably even the first night and definitely would not have extended. Nothing happened but there are numerous run down trailers that appeared to have people living there full time.

Realizing that this this Campground is under new management and that They are working on making improvements, We might check back in a year to see how things are going. Our stay was quiet and peaceful. We had plenty of room to Spread out. The site was level, Which is nice to find when you arrive later on in the day and only have a few precious minutes for set up. We really enjoyed walking the grounds And imagining what this campground looked like in its heyday and what it may look like again.
All that said, there there were certainly some dumb drawbacks to this campground. It wasA little trashy with litter litter throughout and trash cans that had not been emptied at campsites. When we arrived,Just after a second time, there was no management there's no management on the premises so we had to call them. They appeared to be in the middle of
