Beautiful scenery but hard to find
I don't like leaving bad reviews, but we did not end up staying here. Ward was extremely nice and sent us detailed instructions and pictures ahead of time. Unfortunately, even with the pictures and instructions, we still had a hard time finding where we needed to go. The driveway leading to the camp parking was overgrown and there were no signs, so I wasn't completely sure if it was a road or an ATV Trail. We eventually made it to the end of the road, and walked the 4-500 yards to the 'cottage', but it was very confusing as there were a few sets of No Trespassing signs. Once you reach the island (we still weren't convinced we were in the right place), there is a somewhat depilated structure (referred to as the cottage) with more No Trespassing signs, trash, and household appliances strewn about the exterior. I was convinced we had wondered onto someone else's property. I messaged Ward for confirmation that we were in the right place, but didn't get a response for a few hours. There was another group of campers out and I found them by following the sound of their voice. Once we knew we were in the right place, I began looking around for a place to set up our tents (we were a group of 7) but could not find a suitable space without jutting roots or rocks. The other group was also unsure if we would find another spot to setup. At this point after walking around for 45 minutes, we cut our losses and left. The property has great potential, but could us some signage to get there.
