This was the second time, and not the last, that a group of us have camped at Wildcat Creek Farm... and there's a reason for that.
The location had everything. It was close enough to the city in case you forget anything yet secluded enough to feel your out in nowhere. There is a beautiful view of the Kentucky River and if the water level is low enough there is access to a rock shoal on the river which we took full advantage of this year to float in the river. The farm is adjacent to Wildcat Creek. We hiked up the creek to a quaint waterfall and then back down it to the camp site.
Our hosts couldn't have been better. They had the site mowed and looking great when we arrived. They were very gracious and kind. Thanks for an awesome time guys.
John was a very hospitable host and was helpful with directions to his farm. I was able to stay right on the water and woke up to the many horses and goats kept on his farm. John provided me with anything I needed but was also comfortable offering any level of privacy that I needed.
Scenic + animals + great hosts!
This was one of the most beautiful campsites I have ever experienced, and our hosts couldn't have been nicer. We had a lovely view of the Kentucky River, plus there were horses, goats, peacocks and chickens! This was truly an awesome experience and I can't wait to return.
Farm camp fun
Our host was very accommodating! The farm had many areas to camp, some more private than others. The farm animals were a hit with my kiddos, but a little noisy overnight. Overall we had a nice time.
Fun for kids!
Our 4-year-old had so much fun playing with the baby goats, making friends with the donkey, jumping on the trampoline, and exploring the creek! We can’t wait to come back!
Nice hosts, great views, and goats!
We really enjoyed our stay here. Water and electric were by the horse barn (quite a ways from where we set up) which was fine on the water side, kind of bummer on the electric. There were tent campers, and the hosts, in the lower field and we visited with them both nights. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We loved the animals and our son loved the trampoline. The creek was lovely though challenging to access with banks muddy after days of rain.
