Stay in one of our off the grid cabins that are on above the ground 20' x 20'  decks.  The cabins are at the top of Loess Hills bluffs, placed to provide great views.  They have been spaced to give you a lot of privacy.  Get ready for spectacular vistas and the ability to get away from it all.

It begins with leaving you car down below. You can hike or ride your horse to the cabin. You don't need a horse to stay at Horse Creek Adventures. We bring up your gear in a gator.   The cabins easily hold queen size air mattresses. We also have cots you can use. (Rented at $5 a stay) Each cabin has a spindle picnic table with chairs; fire ring and some basic cooking items. You bring the rest of the gear you would bring for a camping trip.   We provide a 7 gal container full of water and a porta-potty toilet for your use.

Once you are set up there are trails to walk or ride with your horses, or just sit on the deck enjoy the beautiful view and read a book. After a short hike, you can catch fish from the pond.  It is catch and release, you bring your own pole, no fishing license is required.  Depending on the season there are blackberries to pick and eat.

At night get ready for the sounds of coyotes and other creatures sharing the space with you. These are just a few of the ways you can enjoy staying at Horse Creek Adventures.  We are less than an hour from Omaha and Lincoln Nebraska. St. Joseph and Kansas City, Missouri are about an hour and a half.

Special Notes:

Horse owners:

You can rent one or more of our cabins, keeping your horse with you in a nearby corral .

Horse Rentals:  For children, a short ride accompanied by our wranglers in our arena or for adults, a two hour guided trail ride beginning with an introduction to trail riding. Contact us for more details.

Dog owners:  We are pet friendly at Horse Creek Adventures but it does require that dog owners work with us.  At any given time there are horses and dogs sharing the same space.  Tell us up front that you are bringing a dog and tell us about its size and breed.  Our rule of thumb is small dogs are welcome. Large dogs are on a case by case basis. This is especially important for dogs that are trained to protect their owners.  When dogs are here they must be kept on a leash, "no exceptions".

Already want to make a trip back! We travelled with two groups of campers. We rented two cabins that were closer together, 1 & 2. (I believe). Our group of four including two kids under 10. The kids absolutely loved this place. Lots of land to explore. A pond for fishing. Lona is so wonderful. Helpful and very inviting. Great views. Make sure to watch the sunset at "sunset point." We also took a road trip into Nebraska City for lunch and hit of the antique shops. The cabins are so cute and clean.

I stayed at Horse Creek with some girl friends for a night and we had a blast. Great place to enjoy some hiking and outdoor time. The cabins are perfect and we loved getting to catch some fish down at the pond. Lona is a perfect host and made us feel very welcomed.

Beautiful views, very quiet and peaceful. If you're up in the hills you will want to ride the gator they offer, as the walk up is steep. Great service, clean porta-potty, clean cabin - you can't get much better than this!

It was a great experience! This was my first Hipcamp experience and it was very cool. I went with my two children and we had a great stay. Hiked, fished, and watched the stars.

This is the place to go to get away from it all! Very peaceful and relaxing, which is just what we needed this weekend. Lona was quick to answer all my questions and was very helpful.

This place is a treasure! The scenery is so beautiful and peaceful. The cabins are perfect for campers who want a little more shelter and a lot less work. The host (Lona) is an absolutely charming and very welcoming soul—she was so patient and kind with our kiddo and so helpful to us. It was just dreamy. Not buggy, not too hot this time of year, and a lovely place to just…stop doing all the things for a few days. We loved it. Can’t wait to return!

This is my favorite place I’ve ever stayed!! I loved the cabin experience and the valet service haha. It’s so private and beautiful. There is so much land to explore and the open cabin was so clean and spacious. There was a super clean port-a-poty and an easy way to dispose of garbage as well. We had a big fire and watched the sun set over a gorgeous view! They had a canopy to pop up in case of rain or for shade and it was super useful. The hosts are such a nice part of the experience because they are so happy and kind and trying hard to help people have a perfect stay. Lona stayed up so late to help us get into our cabin and never made us feel like a burden even though I’m sure we were. Cannot wait to come back if they will have us!
