Goose Creek Lost Acre

I had a great stay! Katie gave me a tour of the property and let me know about the train and baseball field (as you’ve read before) but none of this was bothersome. I hung my hammock right on rivers edge with fire 3 feet away. She delivered my preordered fire wood as I was setting up camp.

I’d stay here again 👍🏻👍🏻

Katie was a great host. We had a great time winter camping. We fit our four man tent without a problem!

Katie is an excellent host. Laid back, helpful & fun to talk with.

Goose creek is tucked away at the back of her long property. You can pitch a tent in the woodsy area surrounding the fire pit. There is limited room back there but it certainly feels secluded despite being a very short distance to the wide open yard (where we slept in our van). The trains are something to consider if that kinda thing disrupts your sleep. Didn't bother me but I sure heard them. The town of Ottawa is charming with plenty of places to eat & drink. Dockside Bar has a lovely riverside setting with huge patio & decent bar food. We also had a solid, friendly experience at Court Street Pub, with surprisingly good fare. Great place to watch a game too. If you're looking for an easy in & out place to explore the area, Goose Creek Lost Acre is a nice convenient option.

Great stay overall. Plenty of room, and Katie was a very communicative host. There was some train noise at night, but that didn't really bother anyone in our group. Would stay there again!

Beautiful campsite and a gracious host. Katie met us at the agreed upon time and gave us privacy. We were able to fit a 5 person tent on the spot with no problem. Looking forward to going back!

This was a cute little weekend getaway for us. The camp site was great for seclusion and had a small table and fire pit and space for our tent. The best part was the creek below us that we could hear at night. We played football and frisbee in the big lawn outside of the camp site and went into the creek to cool off. A few things to note: watch out for the wood stumps poking out of the ground. Also a train runs by the camp site a few times where it may wake you but it’s brief. We hung our hammock by the creek and made s’mores and had a great time. Katie was great. She showed us the site and was very friendly. We would come back!

I love going to state parks and other camping places but it was so great to go somewhere no one would walk by and make my dog bark! Loved the sound of the creek and the natural looking fire pit. Had a great time I’ll be here once a month from now on! Thank you for sharing your land with us!
