>The Cedar Grove Campsite is closed for Winter and will reopen sometime between May 1 and May 15 .

The riverside camp site, including a 12x16 tent pad is about 30 yards from the riverbank and ideally suited for a tent ,van or small pop-up style trailer (15 ft. Max. See separate listing for larger RV’s and Travel Trailers). It is shaded by more than a dozen Western Red Cedars. The approach is a moderate downhill back-in.  There is a large pasture along the river for walking or sitting to enjoy the beauty of North Idaho. On our property, you are surrounded by the Selkirk and Cabinet Mountains.  The area is private, so there is no view of the neighbors.   You’ll have a broken view of the Host’s Cabin. Camp is situated on 15.4 acres of Certified Family Forest. If you hear the rumble of a train at night, it's because the Union Pacific passes along the opposite edge of the property from the campsite. There is no mobile phone service at the campsite . There is WiFi at the campsite shelter. We strongly suggest you activate the “Cell over WiFi “ function on your smartphone BEFORE you arrive/lose cell signal so you can access emergency 911 service. (Note:  some carriers require a 911 Address to activate this function, use the address provided by Hipcamp). There is a fire pit (firewood provided), covered shelter, a USFS-style charcoal grill, (bring charcoal), picnic table, benches, bear-proof food storage box and TEMPORARY trash bin.  There are a lot of deer that roam the property, along with many birds and other wildlife . OUR NIGHTLY CHARGE Includes all the firewood you need and a 10% Hipcamp Service Fee. It does not include 6% Idaho Sales Tax and 2% Idaho Convention and Travel Tax.

Be Bear Aware : From April 1 - November 1 , Idaho State Law requires that all food, beverages and trash never be left unattended and all of the same be stored properly. Our Bear Box is large and can accommodate your supplies and cooler.

Note: Host has seen two black bears over the past 8 years along the river;  they are few and far between.  Idaho bears are afraid of people ;  if they can see you, smell you or hear you , they will try their best to avoid you.  It is always a good idea, and recommended by USFS Rangers, to carry a can of bear spray when camping, hiking and exploring North Idaho !

We loved camping on Paul’s land! The river was beautiful, the shower house was amazing…luxury camping for sure! My son loved being able to make a fire each night and my husband enjoyed taking nighttime star photos in this peaceful location. We definitely recommend staying here!

This was our second time to Iron Horse and it was a wonderful experience! We have now stayed in both the cabin and at the tent site and not only is Paul‘s Land gorgeous, but you are relatively close to cute Bonner‘s Ferry and tons of outdoor adventures. Thank you Paul for sharing your space with us!

What a beautiful spot! Serene, tranquil, private. Old cedar tries overlooking a babbling river. What more could you want? With a shelter for cooking and a hot shower? Stop shopping around, this is the place.

Great place! Love the area along the river! Spent lots of time sitting and reading. Paul has thought of so many little comforts like lights on trees, kiddy toilet seats, extra supplies, and lots of good directions and suggestions. The bathhouse was an awesome bonus. Lots of things to do in the area, a couple of places we checked out we’re Copper Falls and Spruce Lake. Only con is the train at night, but even that wasn’t too bad.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay! Also, glad you made it up to Spruce Lake. So about the night train…they are only supposed to use their horn when a vehicle is at a crossing or animal on the tracks. Thanks for coming up to far North Idaho!

Loved staying at Paul's campsite right next to the Moyie River. Paul was great at communicating with me and provided us with an electric burner when a fire ban was put in place. The shower block was clean and luxurious (hot water rain shower, sink with soap and hairdryer) and the pit toilet was clean and comfortable. We loved the campsite shelter with table, bear, box and bear-resistant trash can. Paul's recommendation for food at Feist Creek Resort was spot-on as was the Copper Falls hike he suggested. We also had fun mountain biking and paddle boarding at Brush Lake and we really enjoyed hanging out down by the river. One of the best campsites I have ever been to - relaxing, safe and well-equipped in a beautiful spot. Thank you, Paul.

Nearby Brush Lake. Great for mountain biking, hiking and paddle boarding.Beautiful, private, quiet area to relax down from the tent pad.Beautiful, private, quiet area to relax down from the tent pad.

Paul is an excellent and friendly host. Enjoyed hearing about the property and surrounding area. The shower and bathroom sink are great amenities as is the covered eating area. Fire restrictions didn't allow us to grill or use our propane stove but Paul provided a hot plate which allowed us to cook all of our meals. Enjoyed fishing on the property and caught several Rainbow and Brook trout. Kids and dog approve as well. Will absolutely return, worth the drive from western Washington.

Paul was super helpful during our trip. We were able to last minute book an extra night when our previous camp spot didn’t work out due to high levels of wildfire smoke. This camp is very thoughtfully set up. He even recommended a small restaurant nearby since we would be arriving late the first night. The tent pad can accommodate a small rv, and is equipped with a generous hose with splitter and power. The outhouse was well kept up, and the covered picnic area was beautifully equipped. The shower house was a much-enjoyed respite from the daily grime of camping and was definitely the cherry on top. We loved spending time at the river soaking in the water during the heat of the day and we also really enjoyed the small meadow by the river. The scenery couldn’t be beat, it’s absolutely gorgeous. By far Paul has been the most responsive and attentive owner I have dealt with.
