Sonny South Farm is our ~30 acre horse farm nestled in the foothills of north Georgia's mountains. We are ~10 miles northeast of Athens and the University of Georgia, and we are ~15 miles southeast of I-85 at Commerce. Sonny South offers beautiful views of animals and farmland. It's common to see deer, coyotes, turkeys, opossums, raccoons, and birds of prey on the farm. There is even a buffalo herd in a neighbor's pasture. It's tranquil and quiet out here. Local Attractions: University of Georgia, Downtown Athens, UGA Botanical Gardens, Georgia Museum of Art, Watson Mill Bridge State Park, Boutier Winery, Soldier of the Sea Distillery Further Afoot: North Georgia Mountains, Lake Hartwell, Ty Cobb Museum, Victoria Bryant State Park. We are NOT a commercial campground.

David and Melissa are helpful and very interesting to talk to! Their place is peaceful and beautiful terrain. It was easy to get in and park and they were at the gate to greet us! The only issue for us was the wires were just a tad low for our 13’3” height in the site we parked but made it through without a problem. Would definitely stay there again!

Peace & Quiet

My husband recently stayed for two weeks for work and he very much enjoyed it! Just a short ride to his job site. Very quiet and peaceful. 100% would stay here again!

The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The power and water hook ups worked great and the farm was very peaceful! I’d highly recommend staying there.
