I got sick & was able leave. I’m now in the hospital getting ready for brain surgery in a couple of hours & can without worry. It WOULD be nice to get a refund without having to ask. I don’t know that I’ll be camping again in my lifetime
Memorial day weekend @buffalo creek
Our weekend at Buffalo Creek @ Newell Lodge was fantastic! So quiet and peaceful and did I mention BEAUTIFUL? We were contacted by Ashley prior to our arrival with complete directions and instructions. We were greeted at the front of the property by John at our appointed time who directed us to our site and was so pleasant to speak with. John checked on us throughout the weekend and made sure everything was going well, plus gave us lots of background history of the place (provided because we asked).
We ate at the Swampfire Bistro Saturday evening there on the property and everything was delicious - with enough food to feed us another meal on Sunday with the leftovers (win-win).
I loved the place clean and quiet. Ashley was a great host. She returned text right away if you had a question. We camped in our 5th wheel. The only thing that I didn't like not being able to stay longer.
Grounds are gorgeous. Horses are so sweet and friendly. The dinner at restaurant was delicious. Okefenokee swamp is close by and definitely worth the visit. Highly recommend staying here, bring your own table, there are none at site.
The perfect getaway!!
Ashley was such a fantastic Hostess! She was super accommodating for us with (literally) showing up a day early and a little late- in the rain - and the gentleman who guided us to our campsite was super friendly and caring! The whole area is so quiet and beautiful! Gorgeous Oak trees EVERYWHERE! Gentle breezes...the PERFECT getaway weekend! Cabins looked lovely (although we didn't look inside them 🙂), the wedding venue was BREATHTAKING!! The Swampfire Restaurant was so quaint and the meal was beyond compare!! The bathhouses were super cute and very clean! It was overall one of the best campsites we've ever stayed at! We will 1000% be coming back again!! I dont think that there is anywhere else we would recommend more highly! 😁
Peaceful camping in the pinelands
This property is about 10 miles north of Folkston, GA. We chose it because we didn't want to hear the trains and it was convenient to the attractions we wanted to see. The office is not staffed full time so it is important to tell them when you plan to arrive. There is very limited phone and WIFI coverage so be prepared to be off the grid. The site has beautiful Live Oak trees and is well maintained. We had a full service site which was great. Only one-two other campers were there during the week Wednesday-Saturday, so it was very quiet and peaceful. Family was very friendly and checked with us that we had everything we needed. Great Firewood!
