Welcome Y'all!! Here at North Shore Relic Ranch, we are minutes from wekiva springs and rock springs. Plus this is home to our 12 cool cows 6 goats and about 50 crazy chickens, which you can interact with. A little bit of something for everyone. We have some interesting vehicles on the property to check out. There are also miles of marked nature trails next to the camp sites. Lake Apopka and canals to kayak on, are only 800 feet away, and there is a 15 mile free nature drive just minutes away. Or just relax and camp/explore! (Tents available for rent, we also have 2 horse stalls for rent, so you can bring your horse to ride the trails)There are different areas around the property where you can camp. A very laid back, chill vibe. Campsite areas are quite vast, so privacy should be of no concern! Fishing is allowed on our property and next door there are state owned hiking trails and canals to fish & kayak on. Plus a boat ramp to launch with restrooms. Campers are asked not to enter/loiter around the 2 private residences, please respect privacy. (but have no concern, there is absolutely plenty of room to wander the camp area and explore!!) There is lots of wildlife so bring the camera, and not only wildlife, our farm animals are huge hams when it comes to pictures (no pun intended, lol) Fire wood/Water/ Soft drinks/ Snacks available to purchase.

Such a great site! This was my first Hipcamp experience, and I wasn’t disappointed. There were actually more “amenities” than I expected. Picnic table, fire ring, chairs if you needed them, string/festoon lights, a clothesline, garbage can with a bag in it and a lid, little shower stand area with a solar shower bag filled up, and a big jug of water. I despise porta potties, but these ones were super clean! AND there’s a motion sensor light on them, which was a very pleasant surprise when you have to go at night. We were the only ones, but all of the sites looked really nice (all good sizes too). The ONLY down side was all of the bugs. I’ve seen bugs, born and raised in Florida, and I’m a huge nature/camping person…but holy cow. The bugs were like nothing I’ve seen. The mosquitos, noseeums, and white flys were extremely abundant, and it hadn’t even rained in a while. However, we did go mid-June. Just be prepared, because it’s hard to combat them no matter what you bring to fight them.
Wonderful experience overall though. James and Valene were very hospitable :)
James is great. He goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great time.
He was an awesome host.
Our group (7 adults and 4 kids) can sometimes get a bit loud while talking (no loud music) during the day, and apparently some other campers complaint about us in the middle of the day, even than James were very nice and polite. But we also had other campers joined us for lunch. So I figured that the problem was not my group, but it the “unhappy” campers that was there.
It was my 1st hip camp. It was fun. But we really missed a bathroom. Not so much a hot shower, but just a shower and a toilet.
We will definitely come back, with our RV, instead of tents. Lol.
Thank you again James!!!
These is our third time here, we love it
Beautiful trees and plenty of space and we can pet one of my fav farm animals, the goats : )
Jimmy is great, very prompt if you need anything
We just returned from our first visit to North Shores Relic Ranch in Mount Dora. We enjoyed it and will be returning!
Piper is our rescue ACD. She reacts to things like bikes and other dogs (especially small breeds). The camp sites were perfect for us. Plenty of room at our site with green space separating us from other campers.
Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive is a short distance from the campground. We enjoyed viewing a variety of birds, turtles and 21 alligators on the 11 mile trail.
Back at the ranch, we enjoyed the evening sounds of frogs croaking, owls who-ing and other critters. Our favorite was noticing the tree frogs sleeping on the tall grass blades in the early morning hours.
James and Valene took great care of us. Definitely check them out on Hipcamp.
It was our second time camping here and as beautiful as the first. We especially appreciate the water and shower bag, as well as the firewood!

Great place to park for the night. Lots of bugs this weekend but it's Florida! James was very welcoming. I loved the solar shower bag! Nice bonus. Site was very clean. I will definitely be back.

The host was very accommodating, helpful and easy going. The property is awesome, large and mostly wild which makes for a more fun boondocking experience. The other reviewers are correct on a couple of things. The bug situation is real, like Naked and Afraid status. (Most of our group were campers and hikers and have been to a load of places, never experienced anything like it but it was the beginning of May, and it’s central Florida. Expect bugs) There was a bit of trash on the property (not the planes, and cars, etc) which could use to be picked up. Other than that, we had a genuinely awesome time and were grateful to spend some time in the woods without a ton of people around.
Oh! And you have to get some chicken eggs! Delicious!!
