We decided to keep it close to home and try out our camping skills. J.R and Laura are amazing hosts and this is a great hidden gem in New Port Richey. It was exactly what we needed for a night away. We will definitely book again!

The land provided a level site that abuts a small river. There were paths thru what appeared to be a native forest with lots of birds.

A real lovely little slice of land in Pasco County. Electrical and water hookups + picnic table was just what we needed. Hosts were gracious and kind. Really cool park a couple miles down the road with hiking trails along the river. Highly recommend.

As a lifetime camper, this quaint 2-site Hipcamp ranks as one of my absolute favorites!!! I was tucked up under the trees, I had shade, electric, water, and as an avid biker and kayaker I had access to lots of miles of biking and kayaking. The charming downtown New Port Ritchey it’s only a couple miles away where you can have all kinds of great food and ambience. The owners were gracious, very accommodating, and even helped me load my kayak. I highly recommend staying here for a great camping experience:)

We ended up extending our stay here twice, Laura and James were great hosts. We used it as a home base to explore the Tampa Bay area, Orlando area and the gulf coast for a couple weeks. We lucked out and saw hundreds of manatees, biked, kayaked and hit a bunch of restaurants and local breweries all within a 45min drive. The property is gorgeous with a boardwalk/trail loop through two beautiful pavilions overlooking the river. As others have mentioned the road by the property is busy, and it's Florida - the sites are grassy/sandy and can get soft in wet weather so bring boards if your rig is heavy to avoid sinking in. Regardless one of our favorite hipcamp experiences thus far would recommend! We have told all our family and friends about it already :)

I can’t say enough great things about our stay here. It is a perfect location for boaters and kayakers. The fire pit and outdoor patio was perfect for entertaining. The house has everything you need!!! We brought our own kayaks and launched right from the yard. We got to see some manatees and loved our time at the chubby mermaid!!

Response from Laura, the Host, on March 9th, 2022

Julie contacted me about the confusion here. She mixed up our location review with another booking she had. We are not the chubby mermaid! She is working on correcting this through Hipcamp. Sorry for any confusion! Laura, Cotee River Bend
