Off grid 10 m. from beach -Corbina
Solitude
An unexpected spot next to the Cape Haze Preserve. The property was marked by four poles with pink tape, plus a “for sale” sign (the phone number on the sign matches the one given to communicate with the host). Very little traffic here as it is on the last road in an area that appears to be slated for development but maybe hasn’t had much interest from the public. We enjoyed the privacy it offered despite being in a wide open space. Flat, easy entry, and will fit any size rig, wonderfully dark and quiet at night. It does have some tall-ish dry grass that is stiff and not fun to walk on, but if you’ve got a big rug you’re all set. Good area for biking. It’s a little farther from stores and city activities but you can still be in the Port Charlotte area or a decent beach within about 20 or so minutes (we really enjoyed Stump Pass State Park while staying here). There’s also a Dollar General not too far north. A flock of egrets hung out in and around the site while we were here and we also saw raccoons and fireflies. Be prepared for mosquitos of course, and because it is right next to Cape Haze and several bodies of water, wildlife. A wild hog was rooting around the area one morning but didn’t come too close. Easy, peaceful, and cheap spot to camp while exploring parks and a quieter part of the Florida Gulf Coast.

Place was fine. No one bothers you have the whole place to yourself.

Very quiet and completely isolated which suited us just fine as we are totally self contained.
