Brown's Gap (Firepit campsite)
Relaxing getaway
The hosts were very nice and helpful. It was peaceful and no one bothered us. The animals could get a little noisy at night, but not for long. The shower has hot water and there's 2 seperate bathroom stalls to use. Walmart and other stores were only 12 minutes away for a quick store run. A nice little 2 day getaway. We're definitely planning on a longer visit next time and even told family about it.

Dark Hollow Falls
We stopped passing through on our way to the eclipse and this was a wonderful place to spend the night. We got there when it was dark and raining, so we stayed near the bathhouse, which was extremely clean and really stellar.
The next morning we were greeted by a big ole friendly pupper who played with ours.
Over night we were awakened by a strange animal noise neither of us could identify, despite us both growing up in the Appalachian forests. But because we grew up in the Appalachian woods, we knew to leave that noise well enough alone! We posted it on TikTok and a farmer suggested “a lonely cow looking for love.” Sure enough the next morning we spotted the big ole angus beefy boys hanging out in the field down the road! Do not fear the strange noises in these Appalachian woods……but don’t go looking for it either!

Yellow Cliffs Mountain
Yellow Cliff (travelers meadow)
Yellow Cliff is actually a decent spot on the farm. It's in a great location not far from the shower and bathroom. Its darker then the the last spot we were in because it's shaded by trees and I got to experience the sound of an owl at night time. It was very pleasant while sitting by the fire cooking dinner.
Crabtree Falls
Almost amazing
The only real issue we had with the stay was the only other people there. At first they were in the upper part. So we had plenty of space. But they came in and out well all night. In a car with no muffler past our rig and up a big hill… finally ended at around 2 am. Then they moved to the rv directly across from us. Where they then not only came and went with the load car at late hours. But would also come outside to smoke and argue loudly. Slamming doors and yelling. This finally ended around 3 am… for a couple days things were great. Then our final night there… loud car up the hill at 1 am. Not very restful the night before we have to pack up and haul the rv 300 miles. I’m not usually the one to complain. But I need them to know our experience. If that hadn’t happened… the place was pretty great. It’s not a resort. But well worth the money.

Melrose Cavern
Travelers meadow
It's really pretty and peaceful out there. Id defenetely stay again. The outdoor experience was exactly what I needed. He has wood you can look for to burn on the fire pits or buy. And this night I sat by a nice cozy fire before turning into my tent and having the best night's sleep. Woke up the next morning feeling very calm and relaxed.

Strickler Knob
Camping at travelers meadow
They were really nice and very helpful. The snow was drying so he upgraded us to the RV for 2 nights and we paid a little extra but it was very worth the stay.
