Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Located in Northeast Tennessee, nestled within the Appalachian Mountains, our campsite spans a vast 135-acre property, originally a dairy farm, currently undergoing restoration to reclaim its natural splendor. Of this land, 32 acres are dedicated to agriculture, while the remainder comprises woodlands, mountainous terrain, and a bog area. Campers are welcome to pitch their tents anywhere within the forested regions, excluding the hay field, which remains reserved for agricultural purposes. Our property boasts a network of established and developing rough-cut trails meandering through forests adorned with both old and new growth, along with two streams, springs, and seeps. This setup ensures a primitive camping experience, emphasizing disconnecting from the digital realm and fostering a deep connection with nature. Beyond our on-site natural wonders, our campsite enjoys proximity to various state and national parks, the Clinch River, historic Jonesborough, distilleries, and the Cherokee Lake Reservoir. For families, Gatlinburg and Dollywood are just a two-hour drive away, offering a plethora of activities ranging from hiking and boating to exploring historical landmarks. Our campsite caters to individuals seeking a remote, nature-focused retreat, ideal for relaxation, nature appreciation, and outdoor pursuits free from the distractions of modern conveniences. Site Selection: Our campground operates on a first-come, first-serve basis with no designated sites. We encourage campers to choose spots that afford privacy, ensuring a sense of solitude for all. Waste Management: As part of our commitment to preserving the area's natural beauty, we request campers to bring a camp toilet. Waste disposal facilities are available at the campground entrance for proper disposal. The is a waste disposal facility located near the campground 3796 TN-70, Eidson, TN 37731. This facility is closed on Mondays. At Donum Farm Campground, we offer the unique opportunity for campers to select their own campsite anywhere on the property, as long as it is within the wood line. This approach allows you to find your perfect spot in nature, offering privacy and a personal connection with the surrounding wilderness. To help maintain the natural beauty of the area and ensure the health of our forest, campers are welcome to clear spaces up to 15x15 feet for their campsite. However, we ask that you leave trees untouched to preserve the forest's integrity and wildlife habitat. You may, however, fell cedar trees with a trunk diameter under 6 inches. This policy ensures a balance between enjoying a personalized camping experience and conserving the natural environment for future visitors. Please ensure that your sight selection is not in the direct line of site of another camper.

Hidden Gem for True Nature Lovers!
If you're up for a real outdoor adventure, Donum Farm Campsite will not disappoint. This place is all about getting back to basics and enjoying nature. The campsite is still a work in progress and doesn't have designated spots to set up, so you can choose your own spot to camp—just steer clear of the hay fields. The big highlight here is the lovely stream that flows right through the middle of the property. We used the stream for cooking, drinking (after purifying the water), and bathing…legit worked out great. Felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. We spent our time hiking, enjoying the peaceful evenings and the abundance of beauty all around us. Overall, if you're the type who enjoys roughing it a bit and doesn’t mind a little prep and self-sufficiency, Donum Farm Campsite offers a truly special escape. It’s really peaceful and super remote.
