Welcome to my peaceful homestead in the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This rustic studio space I affectionately call Chicken Church, has been a labor of love, using all the materials I have collected from my many construction projects over the years... and many states. My friends all know who to pass the junk along to. The space is heated with a wood stove and has an antique 1922 wood cook stove--do you know how to cook on one? The kitchen is set up with a sink, water kettle and cooking amenities, including an electric stove. Bathroom amenities: cold water sink and toilet. No shower inside, but there is an outdoor shower, propane heated. The main house on the property is within 200 feet, where I share the space with Airbnb guests. There is a close neighbor family to the left, about 250 feet away. Because my property is in a residential neighborhood, respect for neighbors and other guests is greatly appreciated. Outside, you’ll feel an instant sense of peace and tranquility surrounded by horses, happy, free ranging chickens, abundant woods, gardens, ponds with some new baby geese chicks soon, open lawns and a fire pit for your restful getaway. I have a pup who monitors the outdoors... and to keep it uncomplicated, i cannot accept other pets. Asheville is about a 12 minute drive: Known as the craft beer capital in the US, there is no shortage of breweries. You don't have to go very far to find a plethora of trails in this town, including the mountain to sea trail which is easily accessible from this neighborhood. The farm to table scene is amazing... so much good food! Eat! Eat! Eat!Welcome to my peaceful homestead in the valley of the Blue Ridge Mountains, my rustic studio space I affectionately call Chicken Church.

Lovely, comfy spot
What a fun, comfortable, lovely place to stay in the beautiful mountains outside Asheville! Andrea is a gracious host and so are the chickens. :) The shower is outdoors but was very fine and warm. The wood burning stove is easy to use and the bedding was warm even with low 40s temps outside. I plan on returning!

Great space, great energy
Really enjoyed our time in Andrea's art studio. The main bed was super comfy and warm, and the kitchen was well-equipped enough for us to make all our meals there. (We were intrigued by the wood stove but ended up cooking on the electric range and electric oven/air fryer combo.) Overnight temps got quite cold (upper 20s/low 30s) for being springtime, but we kept the fire going until we went to bed and the place retained enough heat for us to be fine in the morning. You're at the very end of a road up the side of a ridge, so it feels safe, secure and serene, and Andrea is a great hostess. It was too cold to use the outdoor shower, unfortunately, and I'm not sure it was even set up, but we got showers at the nearby YMCA.

Had a great stay here. It felt like appalachian cabin meets artist loft. The beds were super comfy and the quilts were very warm on a cold night.

We loved staying at Andrea’s cute little art studio/cabin. She was so welcoming and gave us some great recommendations for places to check out in Asheville as well as a lesson on how to use the awesome wooden burning stove in the cabin. It was so incredible to get to wake up with such a beautiful view and see chickens and horses outside our window! I would definitely recommend !

I loved staying in the studio! It was so peaceful and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked, there were some books on the shelf to read, plenty of comfortable spaces. Really neat decorative items and creative ways used to separate different areas of the space. It was all around a wonderful stay and great for having slow, calm moments to yourself.
