Fire pit, picnic table, outhouse bathroom. Rustic, simple, beautiful! GENERAL INFORMATION: We have a looping hiking trail that's roughly mowed into the property. You can access the bike path from the mowed trail, but when there has been rain it will be marshy and wet near the stream crossing. You can still cross and access the bike path but it may be annoying and wet. There is a bridge over the stream located closer to the pond, which you can use if you'd like. The tent site "The Ridge" is at the top of the ridge at the farm. The farm is in a valley, and the bike path is up the other side. You will have to go up and down hill to access the bike path from the private entrance at the farm (see map: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1D3fClRDdQkIP3-Fw38XrbF_ztnyVxEMn&usp=sharing). The code for the gate to the bike path is 4177. Alternately, you can drive or ride your bikes via surface streets to the closest parking lot/entrance, which is 4 minutes away: 559 County Hwy 8, Poughquag, NY 12570. The pond is easily accessible -- it's just a short hike from the tent site (about half a mile, should take about 10 minutes to walk.) Just follow the mowed path around and down. Our pet ducks live in the pond, and there's a dock for fishing (at your own risk etc.) so you can bring fishing gear if that interests you. Here is a google map showing the layout and how to get there: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1D3fClRDdQkIP3-Fw38XrbF_ztnyVxEMn&usp=sharing You might want a lightweight camp chair to bring with you if you go to the pond for fishing. There's a grocery store about 5 minutes away that's open until midnight, so you can get pretty much anything you need there. We supply one milk crate of firewood, so you can bring extra or buy some at the local gas station or grocery store. Be sure to never store food in your tent. New York has a black bear population and while I’ve never personally seen a bear at the farm, they’re all over the Hudson Valley and it’s better to be safe than sorry. Please do not approach any of the shop/farm buildings, any equipment or rolled hay, or the houses, and please make sure you stay on the mowed path (there are protected wetlands on the property, and also we can't have people walking through fields that are actively growing this season!) Quiet hours are from 10 PM - 8 AM – the sound can really carry from the ridge to the whole valley so please respect the families living on the neighboring properties. CHECK IN/CHECK OUT The site is self-check in and out, so you don't need to do anything besides show up with all of your camping stuff and have fun! You probably won't see us, but you may hear or see workers, animals, roosters, etc if you go for a hike away from your campsite. Check-out instructions are in the binder found on the bed. (Basically, just tidy up and put trash in the trash can.) The binder also has information on local sights, restaurants, hikes, etc. so take a look!
