Hang out in nature and sleep in this amazing tree tent! Located less than 2 hours drive from NYC, our 20 acre property offers quiet seclusion in nature, as well as easy access to the best towns (in our opinion) in the Western Catskills! The hamlet of Livingston Manor is less than 10 minutes drive (just follow the trout stream), and neighboring towns of Parksville and Roscoe are a short and scenic drive away. We will happily share with you our list of favorite shops, restaurants, bars and cafes - plus there are 4 breweries and a distillery to explore!Lay suspended in the air and under the stars! You can forget about traditional camping and opt for a good night's sleep in the trees. Beautifully designed and engineered by Tentsile, your tree tent came all the way from England. It's the best way to get some R&R in nature. The tent is suspended a few feet off the ground with seatbelt-like straps between three trees, and easy to get into from side windows or the central hatch. The tent does not sag (like a hammock), is taut (more like a trampoline), and very comfortable. Look up through the mesh cover to the treetops and stars, or if rain comes, a protective rainfly is easy to attach. Your personal outdoor fire pit for roasting s'mores is adjacent to the tent. There's nothing quite like a weekend spent by the campfire. And there's nothing more luxurious than having a private and comfortable toilet in the woods! A privacy tent a short distance from your tent houses a composting toilet and fresh water station. The tent site is in a private clearing in the woods, situated deep into our 20 acres. The Meadow Trail leads straight to your tent site. We love our land for its diversity of natural environments - and hope you will explore the Beech tree woods carpeted in ferns, the incredibly deep mosses on Sponge Hill, the Hemlock Grove, Frog Pond, and the boulders in The Rock Kingdom. The large open Meadow with view to the Catskill Mountains is perfect for playing frisbee in the afternoon sun, and taking in the moon, constellations, Milky Way and meteor showers at night. Our area is renowned for Fly Fishing - there is a public fishing access point just a half mile from our property where you too can experience The Best Trout Fishing in the northeast! Bring your fly fishing gear, or go into the water for the first time with one of many local outfitters. The hamlet of Livingston Manor is less than 10 minutes drive (just follow the trout stream), and neighboring towns of Parksville and Roscoe are a short and scenic drive away. Golden Birch Tree Tent
Wonderful Tree Tent Experience!
We had a wonderful stay at the Golden Birch Tree Tent! We came up from NYC and were impressed by how quiet and peaceful the property was after a quick 90 minute drive. We parked next to a barn on the property and the tent is a short 5 minute walk away in the woods. The views of the surrounding mountains and meadows on the site are incredible. The actual camping site is completely secluded in the trees - during the night we heard owls and coyotes off in the distance, and woke up to the sound of turkeys. The tent is a little different than a traditional camping tent - the first night we had the rain cover on due to the weather so we used the bottom entrance of the tent. The next night was beautiful weather so we took off the rain cover and were able to enter from the sides, and stare up at the stars before we fell asleep. The tent itself felt very spacious and comfortable for 2 people. The compost toilet was the nicest we’ve ever used! The new outdoor shower with hot water felt luxurious in the cooler fall weather. Overall it was incredibly convenient and hassle free to be able to pack our clothes and sleeping bag in the back of the car and arrive at the campsite with everything already set up. You couldn’t ask for more gracious or accommodating hosts either! They gave us great recommendations for local places to eat and how to find a nearby waterfall. We absolutely recommend staying here!
