We had a private spot very close to White Sands NP. The sunset and stars were stunning from here. No bathrooms but would still recommend

Good location for White Sands NP

Easy enough to find in daylight, but if you’re planning to see the sunset at White Sands bonfire getting to the camp, then I’d recommend scouting it out in the day. Good location for White Sands NP. You can just here the highway, while the occasional train is a bit louder, but pretty quiet. We enjoyed being able to use the firepit - the firewood we ordered was great quality and burnt really well. Overall definitely recommended

Red Rock Retreat 01

Nice mountain views!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Easy access, mostly total privacy (there is a trailer about 150-200 yds away), great views of the Sacramento mountains - especially picturesque in late afternoon. Alamogordo not far should the need arise, about half an hour to White Sands. Sound travels easily out there, so you'll hear the low noise of the highway, trains going by, and occasionally the generator from neighboring land, but these did not disturb greatly.
