Backcountry huts are the most relaxing and energizing places on Earth. The Tundra Hut is exactly this kind of extraordinary place on Earth. Perched at 11,594 ft it was built with a vision of a remote backcountry refuge to both enjoy peaceful days and endless adventure of the Colorado Rocky Mountains.
The hut is on 5 acres of land and surrounded by protected forest. There are many activities to do including winter/spring and summer/fall activities including skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, hiking, mtn biking, off-roading and more.
It is operated like many of the other Colorado huts where the guests are responsible for cleaning after their stay. This means packing out your trash, and following the cleaning checklist for checkout. You melt snow in the winter for water, in the summer, you bring water or filter water from the rain barrels.This off-the-grid cozy cabin is a beautiful getaway from everyday life. Out the hut door is the wild gorgeous alpine tundra. Only an hour from Denver, this is a perfect weekend or weekday moment to breathe in the mountain air. The hut sleeps 8 people, 2 bedrooms and a loft, a full kitchen, plenty of seating, indoor toilet, and spectacular views. The hut is the best of glamping, it comes fully stocked with essentials like firewood, TP, papertowels, matches etc. while still functioning like a true ski hut, pack it in, pack it out, and bring a sleeping bag.
Sumer time allows you to drive to the hut up a fun 4x4 road, while winter provides the ultimate getaway with a 5 mile ski or snowmobile to the hut.
Dogs are allowed during the summer months, no pets allowed during winter!
