Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
2.5 acres of desert views with five Joshua Trees on the property. Quiet and peaceful area where you can be one with nature. Approximately 20 minutes from the Joshua Tree National Park entrance. All donations will be used to develop an eco friendly, self sustained-site with palm trees and other green trees. The road is paved until the last mile, road turns into hard dirt. Please arrive while light is out, it gets really dark at night. Available for any questions between (9am-6pm). Please review site description before booking.Off grid, dry camping (no utilities) for those that want to experience serenity under the stars. The area gets dark at night, perfect for star gazing. With 2.5 acres to yourself, the area is quiet with only a few neighbors. We have a triangle shade to keep you cool, patio set, and a bonfire area. More to come as we develop our site. Lots of open space for an RV, cars, pitch your tent, friends and pets! Every donation (night spent) will plant another palm tree on the property to essentially have an oasis in the middle of the desert. Thank you for considering us!

Evelyn’s Big Bear Forest - Off-Road
Big Bear Views
Very cool and spacious spot (site 1) up a very rough driveway. Great little niche spot with great views. Highly recommend 4x4 and making sure there’s no snow on the ground before going. Previous reviews were spot on. There is a very narrow gate to be aware of. The site is very rocky, so be prepared with a thick sleeping pad, cot, trailer, etc. No fires. We were self contained, but I never saw a port-a-potty, so maybe it’s gone for the winter…not sure. All of the above was “as advertised”, and in alignment with our expectations, so we thoroughly enjoyed it and had a fantastic stay!

Evelyn’s Big Bear Forest - Off-Road
Woke up to a memorable and majestic sunrise with a crescent moon far off in the east over a misty Valley. This region is in a lightly populated area past big bear city. You won’t make it up to these sites, which are on the hillside unless you have four-wheel-drive and decent clearance. Probably be dicey with a Subaru. The sights are decent and very flat however. No toilets or anything modern. Our site did have a nice picnic table and shade. Despite the views, there are houses in the vicinity. This is not really a destination spot but a great place to crash for a night or two if you are in the area. We will definitely be back

Evelyn’s Big Bear Forest - Off-Road
Nice View and Option to Yellow Post
Nice out of the way place with good view. Just be aware there are no facilities at all. No water or toilets and the driveway is steep. My buddy made it up in a 2 wheel drive Vanagon but he had to get some speed. Camp 2 does not offer much in the way of level ground and the ground itself is very very rocky. There is what was probably a deck for tents but it is worn and useless. We would have liked to have it out of the way for more vehicle room. We had a sprinter and a Vanagon in camp 2. It was tight but totally doable. As an alternative to a Yellow Post site where you can have a reservation, this was great. The donkeys are a hoot. We did not have any up to camp but you would see they do come up sometimes. I would stay here again and likely will.

Evelyn’s Big Bear Forest - Off-Road
I took my truck up to campsite 1 and camped in my rooftop tent. Loved all the animals and the incredible views. The campsite was simple, but had some really nice features for food prep and looking out at the view. The road up to the site was fun! Glad to use my 4 wheel drive.

Evelyn’s Big Bear Forest - Off-Road
Evelyn had a fun little spot spot. A little crawl up a rocky, dirt drive (as she calls out, definitely recommend 4x4 ) to a cute little spot overlooking the valley. The wild donkeys were charming! My pup and I enjoyed a night and hiked around some nearby trails.
