Dark Hollow Park provides beautiful, private, and secure primative campsites. Potable water and a composting privey are available. The camp host is on site if there are any questions. There is a one-mile hiking trail, a small stream and waterfalls located a short hike down into Dark Hollow. The Hollow is rich in history. There is a small Amphitheater in the bottom of the hollow where permanent water remains year round. Dark Hollow has played many rolls from sancuary to battleground over the years. There are numerous activities with in a short distance.Dark Hollow is a beautiful property with plenty of tenting options. Campers often hear lions, tigers, or wolves from the sanctuary located in Sand Valley below. The terrain is rugged with a steep hike down to the creek. There are many hiking trails throughout the 14 acres. Dark Hollow has a rich history of use due to the year around water sources and the terrain providing a defensible position. The Amphitheater located in the bottom of the hollow is unique and gives a glimpse into the past. The camp host is located across the highway if you would like more information.

Dark Hollow

Danny was a great host! Really enjoyed his company. As an avid hiker, he created a very lovely trail that is well mark and a vigorous hike. The 1.1 mile hike goes down to a very beautiful stream. I sat on a large rock in the stream and enjoyed a zen moment. The shower is well made and roomy. The sites are well put together with stone fire pits and some have nice stone benches. The drive there was enjoyable and access to the entrance was easy and well marked. I highly recommend this if you like a good morning hike. I will definitely be returning for a longer stay!

Great Guys and Great Vibes

Camping at dark hollow was great. Danny handles the side through the app amazingly. He has great communication and let us know everything we needed to. Zed is the other host, he is the one that will be waiting when you get there. He gave us a very comprehensive tour and showed us all the sites. I definitely recommend the summit if you can get it the view is amazing. We stayed at another site for better wind protection but it was still plenty big enough to fit 3 tents and a hammock. The trails are also very fun, although some spots are hard to navigate.

Wonderful stay, Zed was amazing and helpful. We wish to camp there again in the future. The hot showers were an added bonus.

Has a great time at this beautiful spot. The hosts made sure we were well situated and then left us be for the rest of our trip. Would return again if I’m in the area.

Cool Spot

Cool spot. Really neat camp site placements on the edge of the escarpment. You wouldn't want a big rig with the hills and tight spots but the higher clearance setups work. Nice host with friendly dog. Steep but fun private trail down to creek from camp spots.
