My neighbor has a flock of Peacocks that are usually out to be seen (it's a hike to see them, but we can take you there if you'd like). Coqui's singing romantic songs all through the night. Crabs in the creek for the kids to catch. It's a jungle. We have a lot of fruit trees on the property. If you see anything ready for the taking let us know and you can partake in the experience of harvesting and eating it. Bananas, avocados, soursop, guava, fig, calabaza, coffee, name, coconuts, pana pen, and more. Clean filtered mountain water is available for purchase. As well we keep a regular supply of Caribbean snacks available. Sweet and savory available for purchase. Exciting.

We came down here from New England in 1997 because we were invited by some locals to teach hanggliding here. At that time as certified HG instructors we thought ok lets try..came down here with our backpacks, a few hang gliders, and figured we would see how it worked out. Renting places to stay for a few years and including rooms for visiting students we had this opportunity to get and fix up this old house. It was a continuation of my dream to have a back pack travelers , adventure travelers, artists, LBGTQ friendly, off the beaten path type of place to stay. And so in 2004 Barefoot Travelers Rooms and Adventures Guesthouse was born.

Excellent stay. Luis was very polite and discreet. I had no problem with the camping area. Not far from the town, but high enough to have beautiful views and beautiful sunsets. Will be coming back! // Excelente estadía. Luis fue muy cordial y discreto. No tuve ningún problema con el área. No está lejos de lo urbano y es lo suficiente alto en la montaña para encontrar vistas y atardeceres bellos. De seguro regrese!

Awesome secluded location! Yet you're not to far from good food and tons of adventure nearby. Robert and his wife were super nice and accommodating. If your schedule allows it opt for the breakfast on the balcony! During our stay we did stuff all over the island this place is fairly centrally located. Which was perfect for our trip.

Robert accommodated us perfectly. we had access to a full size tent that was under a lean-to, hose water, chairs and a propane stove. It was a fantastic stay in the foliage. We were comfortable and were able to stay dry and under shade if needed. Robert was very friendly and helpful and gave us information on places to explore. Great, great time for our group of 5. would definitely recommended and stay again. Ps. His wife's snacks are DELICIOUS and would recommend supporting her local business!!

The camping Finca Monte Bahia was amazing, about view, welcoming by owner and spot on top of the Hill. The owner offert banana, star fruit and cacao caboss fresh wont groying on Finca. Barefoot Travelers is so much more than a Hipcamp. It features large clean bedrooms, a kitchen stocked for breakfast along with airy comfortable common rooms. I had a great experience camping on Robert's property. So beautiful, quiet, and secluded. Robert and his wife were so accommodating, and I knew if I needed anything they were a short distance away. The campsite has awning to protect it from the rain, which was amazing to relax and listen to the rain hit the roof. The sunrise breakfast was awesome Robert and his wife are very cordial and interesting to talk to. Robert walked me around and showed me some specific plants on his property and also his chickens and geese were really fun to see. 100% recommend this property to any other campers wanting to take a nice break away from the heat andthe city. Although the campsite felt very secluded it was just a few minutes drive away to shopping and dining options. I definitely felt like I made new friends on the island 🙂

Had a great time staying at Rob’s - host is great with communication, and site is nice and truly feels like you’re in the middle of the rainforest (which you are!). Hosts themselves are super nice and interesting people to chat with; watched the sunrise and went on a hike to see some petroglyphs and a beautiful charco nearby. Highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the area!

Great place to camp. Friendly, accommodating host. Owls and coqui frogs at night. Tody, oriole, green mango, bullfinch, shiny cowbirds walking on road in the morning. Good spot to stay if going to search for the parrots at rio abajo. We loved sleeping by a banana tree.

A perfect host! The first thing that jumped out at me was how open and communicative Keishya was prior to our stay. Once we arrived we found her warm and friendly and felt immediately welcomed. I would recommend this camp site 100 percent! The hosts r super cool and made me feel very welcome. There is a river with small waterfall s that u can hear at night very private and secluded perfect spot to unwind. I slept very well and definitely would come back! Close access to numerous very beautiful waterfall s and hiking! 5 stars! Probably the nicest hipcamp I've been to!
