With only one campsite on the property, and the comfortably secluded surroundings, you will indulge in peace and beauty. Campers leave feeling refreshed and healthier than they arrived. The fresh air, the perfect sunshine and good quality mountain food feel great to consume.
You can enjoy the plentitude of animals here and surrounding the property. Both wild and domestic. If you're a bird watcher, this is like a natural sanctuary. Song birds sing all through the day, and the doves snore beautifully at night. Cranes, owls, hawks, humming birds, parrots, and many more I'm not familiar with visit all the time. We got farm ducks, and chickens too. My neighbor has a flock of Peacocks that are usually out to be seen (it's a hike to see them, but we can take you there if you'd like). Coqui's singing romantic songs all through the night. Crabs in the creek for the kids to catch. It's a jungle.
We have a lot of fruit trees on the property. If you see anything ready for the taking let us know and you can partake in the experience of harvesting and eating it. Bananas, avocados, soursop, guava, fig, calabaza, coffee, name, coconuts, pana pen, and more.
Clean filtered mountain water is available for purchase. As well we keep a regular supply of Caribbean snacks available. Sweet and savory available for purchase.

We came down here from New England in 1997 because we were invited by some locals to teach hanggliding here. At that time as certified HG instructors we thought ok lets try..came down here with our backpacks, a few hang gliders, and figured we would see how it worked out. Renting places to stay for a few years and including rooms for visiting students we had this opportunity to get and fix up this old house. It was a continuation of my dream to have a back pack travelers , adventure travelers, artists, LBGTQ friendly, off the beaten path type of place to stay.
And so in 2004 Barefoot Travelers Rooms and Adventures Guesthouse was born.

What an amazing place! We loved our stay at Keishya’s guesthouse. It was perfect in every way: the beach, the pool, the nature preserve - near a charming town with wonderful hosts! The communication, cleanliness and attention to detail was excellent. And take the kayak tour to Monkey Island, it was the highlight of our vacation. Stay here, you won’t regret it!

Weekend Trip to Barefoot Travelers Rooms Guesthouse
It is difficult to overstate just how wonderful our stay was. The experience is best described as a “Bed & Breakfast” at a prime beach location. While it is not ocean front, it took us a good minute and a half to get to the beach. Trails are everywhere and the host was exceptionally good at suggesting walks, trails to take, so on and so forth. We planned some activities ahead of time but had we known just how private and meticulously maintained the beach is, we would have stayed at the house and would have made our dinners in house. Keishya is an outstanding host and she even made sure we had eggs, muffins, apple sauce and a few other things. I mean, talk about the details!!!!
In short, you will not be disappointed if you stay at this location. It is without a doubt the best experience we’ve had with Hipcamp and, mind you, we’ve had nothing but good experiences!
It was outstanding in every conceivable way…

It was so nice to have Luis welcoming me and showing me around when I arrived. The view is amazing, it is an authentic Puerto Rican experience, complete with the neighbor singing along to his stereo system into the night. The terracing was done with clay so it does not absorb the moisture, so the spot was rather swampy. It seems installing a wooden platform could correct for that.

Luis was fantastic, very kind and met us when we arrived. Offered plenty of advice for the area and let us know that he was available anytime if we needed him. He also offered us fresh fruits from his garden
The views were incredible, about a 30 min drive to Rincon which was very easy. Would definitely recommend this trip again.

Excellent stay. Luis was very polite and discreet. I had no problem with the camping area. Not far from the town, but high enough to have beautiful views and beautiful sunsets. Will be coming back!

Awesome secluded location! Yet you're not to far from good food and tons of adventure nearby. Robert and his wife were super nice and accommodating. If your schedule allows it opt for the breakfast on the balcony! During our stay we did stuff all over the island this place is fairly centrally located. Which was perfect for our trip.

Robert accommodated us perfectly. we had access to a full size tent that was under a lean-to, hose water, chairs and a propane stove.
It was a fantastic stay in the foliage. We were comfortable and were able to stay dry and under shade if needed.
Robert was very friendly and helpful and gave us information on places to explore.
Great, great time for our group of 5.
would definitely recommended and stay again.

The camping Finca Monte Bahia was amazing, about view, welcoming by owner and spot on top of the Hill. The owner offert banana, star fruit and cacao caboss fresh wont groying on Finca. We have acces at quiet wood and call on farm. We recommande this camping for your next vacation to relax and reconnecte with you.

Barefoot Travelers is so much more than a Hipcamp. It features large clean bedrooms, a kitchen stocked for breakfast along with airy comfortable common rooms.
Even with the house being as awesome as it is Keishya is the real star of the show. She went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect. Her kindness and hospitality are second to none!

I had a great experience camping on Robert's property. So beautiful, quiet, and secluded. Robert and his wife were so accommodating, and I knew if I needed anything they were a short distance away. The campsite has awning to protect it from the rain, which was amazing to relax and listen to the rain hit the roof. The sunrise breakfast was awesome Robert and his wife are very cordial and interesting to talk to. Robert walked me around and showed me some specific plants on his property and also his chickens and geese were really fun to see. 100% recommend this property to any other campers wanting to take a nice break away from the heat andthe city. Although the campsite felt very secluded it was just a few minutes drive away to shopping and dining options. I definitely felt like I made new friends on the island 🙂

Had a great time staying at Rob’s - host is great with communication, and site is nice and truly feels like you’re in the middle of the rainforest (which you are!). Hosts themselves are super nice and interesting people to chat with; watched the sunrise and went on a hike to see some petroglyphs and a beautiful charco nearby. Highly recommend checking them out if you’re in the area!

Great place to camp. Friendly, accommodating host. Owls and coqui frogs at night. Tody, oriole, green mango, bullfinch, shiny cowbirds walking on road in the morning. Good spot to stay if going to search for the parrots at rio abajo. We loved sleeping by a banana tree.
