Lucky Island Landing

1 site · RV, Tent3 acres · Fayetteville, AR
LUCKYISLAND'S suburban location provides a great landing place for the weary traveler.  Situated on 3 acres within Fayetteville city limits with good proximity to many outdoor and cultural activities. Private heated bathroon with limited and semi hot water on demand( European style) and kitchen station in outbuilding. 110 electrical. Covered porch with fire ring available when safe for fires. Wood may be ordered in Hipcamp Extras when you make your reservation. CAMPSITES: There are several spots to choose from but only one camper group allowed at a time. So the bathroom and porch will be private. One site is at the top of the driveway and is right next to bathroom and 110 electrical. It faces the road and is where campers would park if they pull in after dark. Other sites are on grass and are at back of property but further from BR and electricity. These sites are not officially listed as suitability is weather and vehicle dependent. Use to be decided as campers arrive. BATHROOM : Campers have access to a bathroom with a flush toilet.   Bathroom is heated and has toilet and sink and ability to take very BRIEF and warm to hot shower sitting down. Rather European, yes, but works with the limitations of warm/ hot water on demand and set-up  Towels and toiletries provided. Kitchen station: Inside, adjacent to bathroom,  is a kitchen station with electric kettle, coffee maker and microwave.  Coffee and tea provided. COVERED PORCH: There is a coleman stove provided. Water is available in the bathroom. The covered porch sits in the middle of the property. A fire ring can be used on the porch with owners instructions, our wood ( for a small fee ordered in EXTRAS when you make your reservation ) and permission only. The porch is at west end of an out building and the bathroom is at the other end. In between is a sun room and bedroom which is not for campers. MILEAGE TO HIKING AND MIKING AND BENTONVILLE MUSEUMS: Lucky Island is 2.1 driving miles and 3.6 biking miles to Centennial Park at Milsap Mountain, a new cyclo cross and mountain bike park. Kessler Mountain Park which has hiking and biking trails is 6.7 biking miles and 6 driving miles. Lake Wedington which also has biking and hiking trails is 17 driving miles( dont recommend biking to Wedington from here and biking to other parks involves some traffic). Bentonville is about 30 driving miles. HOSTS: Hosts live on the property in the original farmhouse and if not home will be close by. Hosts will be out on the property, tending the 5 chickens( no rooster!) and garden during the day. This means we might walk by the porch or your camp area. Efforts to ensure privacy will be made. Barring any emergencies we won't be outside before 8 a.m. This is our third season of hosting (2024) We look forward to sharing Lucky Island with other campers. We traveled for 7 years with a Little Guy trailer and often wished for just what we are offering. OTHER: Since this is suburban camping, stars can be seen but it is not totally dark due to the development that has occured around us.  I have lived here 35 years when this WAS country. NOW, Lucky Island still has a country feel except for the busy road sounds and the neighbors' ambient lights. There is less privacy during winter when the leaves are off. We sit on a remmant oak savanah that fronts a busy road which also incorporates Fayetteville's amazing bike trail ( the trail is still under construction).  This is a urban hobby farm with chickens (no rooster!) and garden, deciduous trees and pines. COVID: We are covid conscious and vaccinated. While we say meet and greet we can also arrange for contactless check-in if we communicate first by phone. Bathroom, coffee/ microwave station,  and porch will be sanitized.

Lisa Christiansen’s Childhood Home

3 sites · Lodging2 acres · Tahlequah, OK
A place carved out of history dating back over 200 years ago. This is where history welcomes you to the Cherokee culture. This land has been handed down for generations and has stayed in the family beginning on my mother’s side of the family, Mary Ann Groundhog, the fourth generation great granddaughter of Sequoyah on the “Dick” side of my family tree. My mother was heavily involved with AIM (American Indian movement). My dad was the last monolingual Cherokee. His name was Mack Vann, he was a man who loved culture and sharing it with visitors and handed down that passion to me. My hip camper site is named after my daddy, I am still a daddy‘s girl. The land originated before Sequoyah. who created the Cherokee syllabary. Sequoyah was my fifth generation great grandfather and I am very proud of my Cherokee heritage, I would love to share my culture, my tradition, and my passion with you. Learn more about this land: Come and experience the authenticity of Tahlequah, Indian country, Oklahoma where almost every resident is Cherokee, Native American, Nature at its most organic state; A place where deer run free, the sunset paints a new picture each evening with glorious colors of warmth and serenity. Away from the hustle and bustle, peaceful, and inviting. Just a short hike or drive to Todd’s access or you can swim, fish, or float down the beautiful Illinois River. God's Country

146 sites · RVs, Tents30 acres · Paris, AR
God's Country is nestled off the beaten path on the ridgetop overlooking the farm land south of the Arkansas river. Wild life is abundant and protected. You can see the north side of Mt. Magazine which is the highest point between the Alleghenies and Rockies. To our west is my uncle’s blueberry/blackberry farm within walking distance. My property also offers two more views the closest one is Short Mountain, the 2nd is Horseshoe Mountain. At night time you can expect to hear the sounds of calming insects such as the crickets and bullfrogs and the occasional call of the whippoorwill and in the distance the howl or two of a coyote.
