Fruitdale Farm

Come stay at our little sustainable farmstead amid the beautiful rolling hills of southern Ohio!

Our peaceful 20 acres has a good mix of woods, wild meadows and maintained cleared areas as well as a small pond, all of which can be explored via our nature trail.  Enjoy the sounds of nature and an incredible night sky.

Farm fresh eggs and fresh produce are available for purchase during the growing season and firewood is available all year round.

There is also a wonderful sauna on the property that can be reserved.

Great hiking, kayaking, biking, birding, fishing, swimming, and disc-golfing opportunities just a few miles away at Paint Creek State Park and the Highland Nature Sanctuary.  Amish country is also just 15 minutes away with a great bakery, markets and greenhouses.  This area is home to an impressive network of ancient earthworks including the world famous Serpent Mound.

Our accommodations range from primitive tent-camping to "glamping" in one of our tiny off-grid cabins.

The sites are spaced out for privacy and each site offers a private picnic table and fire pit.  There are two shared privies/outhouses which have basic composting toilets.  A grassy parking area is provided near the road, however, ALL SITES ARE WALK-IN ONLY.

Greenfield (5 miles north) is the nearest town and has two grocery stores, restaurants, a bar, hardware, gas, etc.  Bainbridge (7 miles south) has gas, hardware, a couple of restaurants, dollar store, amish businesses, etc.

The screened gazebo kitchen is a lovely place to prepare a meal and is stocked with just about everything you'd need.

Rustic Retreat

Enjoy three vintage airstreams on an 1870s farm property. Lots of wildlife including a variety of birds, birds of prey like owls and hawks and deer. The local Little Miami Scenic bike path is the largest in the nation and is within 2/10 of a mile away. Other activities include hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, sailing, paddleboarding, trail running, bike rental and rock climbing. Guide services available.

Todd’s Fork Adventures

This property was the original location of Todd’s Fork Bluegrass Festivals back in the 70’s and is directly on Todd’s Fork with 1/2 mile of River frontage. We reside within the Village of Morrow, walking distance to restaurants and stores. The little Miami Bike Trail is approximately 1/4 mile from our entrance. This property is tucked away and you wouldn’t even know you’re close to town once you’re on site. Valley Vineyards is right down the road to enjoy a bottle of wine and cook your own steak dinner nights. Take a trip to visit Fort Ancient with a day hike. A Native American earthworks complex, the largest hilltop enclosure in the world and soon to be a World Heritage site! Enjoy some canoeing on the Little Miami River a State and National scenic river which is within walking distance. We have kayaks on location for the kids to play in the creek and creeks to hike with numerous fossils deposits. Southwestern Ohio is famous for its Ordovician fossil deposits.  Kings Island is approximately 20 minute drive and the Ohio renaissance Festival is near. Caesars creek state park in Cowan lake state park is within a short drive.  Smallmouth Bass fishing  is awesome on Todd’s Fork and we have plenty of area to Wade fish.

Sweet Spot by Yellow Springs

The campsite is in an open meadow on our 5 acre property, next to the ruins of what was one of the oldest barns in the county (there are still some beautiful stone walls left). You will be surrounded by trees and the spot is completely private. Directly across the road from our property (a 5 minute walk) is the Little Miami Scenic Trail, the third longest paved trail in the US (amazing for biking). The unique village of Yellow Springs is only a 5 minute drive away with a great local grocery store and several cafes. Included in this campsite is access to our 1830s spring house if you want a refreshing dip! PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE BOOKING.Notes: 1) For camper vans: we do allow camper vans (not RVs or trailers) but you will need to park at the entrance of the meadow where there is gravel. Recently a camper got stuck in the meadow due to rain/mud (which is why we do not allow RVs or trailers). 2) We are still building a compost toilet so the option on the property now is to dig a cat hole at least 6" deep. There is an open public toilet in Yellow Springs and several businesses with open bathrooms. 3) The spring house is not secluded, you can see it from our driveway. We regularly let it drain and it fills itself up. Water level depends on rainfall. It is cold but perfect for hot days! 4) The campsite is right off of Route 68. You cannot see cars from the site but you can hear them. The amount of noise from cars is lower at night. 5) The meadow is ideal for tent camping, though it is NOT a built campsite so it is not perfectly level throughout.

Learn more about this land:Sprawling acreage including hills, woods, and meadows. The private gravel driveway leads a mile into the property, ending at the host’s home. However parking is flexible across the property. Nearby state parks such as rocky fork and paint creek include streams and lakes for kayaking and canoeing. Serpent’s mound is merely 20 miles away if you fancy a historical Indian burial mound. Other property features include a natural spring, a stream, pond, and abundant wildlife activity.

Ridge top camps can hold 2 tents easily plus hammocks.
