There is no better place to hit the trails than in Montana’s Trailhead. Billings offers hundreds of acres of city parks and 47 miles of walking and biking trails surrounding the city. Ride or walk along the legendary Yellowstone River, take in the forever views from Swords Park or head west to a wilder landscape near Zimmerman Park. To experience both the sandstone heights and the rivers, explore the Four Dances Recreation Area. Hike from the parking area to the edge of the Rimrocks. Be aware that the steep drop-offs along this trail reach 500 feet over the Yellowstone River! Additional trails in this area lead down through the pine forest and end at the Yellowstone River. Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.
