Get ready for "scout camp" energy at Camp Fernweh, perched uphill amidst a mix of hardwoods and junipers! Picture yourself surrounded by the whispering leaves of shagbark hickory, sturdy oaks, and the bursts of color from vibrant redbuds.
If the season’s right, you'll find pockets of wild black raspberries and gooseberries waiting to be discovered. Take to winding trails that span our 5 acres, inviting leisurely exploration or spirited adventures. We currently have one 13' canvas tent with 2 "bring your own tent" sites in the making.
Despite being conveniently close to your car, our campsites exude a sense of privacy and seclusion, just far enough away to feel like you hiked to get to your perfect spot!

Being good to Mother Earth is at the heart of what we do. We prioritize sustainability with a newly constructed outhouse featuring a composting toilet, ensuring your comfort while respecting the environment.
Our inspiration for Camp Fernweh is the "sleep-away scout camps" we never got to attend. Workshops, campfire book chats and simple camping are what we do best! Check out our website to see if we have an event going on during your stay. Camp Fernweh, just 15 minutes north of Springfield off Hwy 13, offers easy access to outdoor adventures! Within 5-10 minutes, you'll find Ozark Greenways for cycling and walking, 2 mountain biking parks, and hiking spots in conservation areas. Don't miss the nearby Frisco Highline Trail in Willard, MO, along with convenient grocers. Plus, Fantastic Caverns and Crystal Cave are just minutes away for added exploration!

Relax at the Lake of the Ozarks

5 sites · RVs5 acres · Sunrise Beach, MO
Filled with natural wonder, opportunities for recreation and relaxation and a few quirks, the area is a little misunderstood even by many Americans. The Ozarks region is as famous for the Lake of the Ozarks as it is for the mountains that the area is named after, largely because of the sheer size of that particular body of water. With its various arms and nooks and crannies, the lake has 1,100 miles (1,770km) of coastline, which is more than the state of California. It’s no wonder it’s such a popular spot for boating and watersports, with so many places to dock and so much water to explore. The lakes and rivers of the Ozarks are rich with fish, particularly several species of bass and catfish, as well as trout, crappie and carp, all of which attract many recreational fishing boats. There are also more unexpected water creatures like small freshwater jellyfish, which are not believed to be native to North America but do periodically appear in the Lake of the Ozarks, particularly in late summer and early autumn. Looking for a serene getaway with stunning lake views and a touch of green? Look no further than our 5-acre Hipcamp site overlooking the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. With a dispensary just half a mile down the road, you can unwind and enjoy some fresh greens while taking in the breathtaking scenery. So come kick back, relax, and soak up the tranquility of our little slice of paradise. Book your stay now and let us help you create unforgettable memories! Located close to the store and even a farmers market within 1/2 mile. Lots of Local Attractions and Activities, Privacy, Shade, Views of the Lake of the Ozarks On the west side of the property overlooking the rest of the property you have an amazing advantage of the land. Enjoy the early sun and the late sunset.

Surrounded by expansive forests and unique geology, Lebanon is set in the heart of Missouri. Discover local history with a visit to Ha Ha Tonka State Park, where campers can visit the ruins of a stone castle nestled among the trees. Bennett Spring State Park offers fishing and fun on the water, as well as plenty of space for tent and RV camping. Lake of the Ozarks State Park is the perfect place to explore inside one of Missouri’s famous caves, where guided tours take campers through the vast unlit cavern. Discover RV and tent campsites along the rivers and lakes, as well as hidden gems like campsites on one of Lebanon’s local farms.

Where to go

Ha Ha Tonka State Park

Discover a unique view of Missouri history with a walk up to Ha Ha Tonka Castle Ruins, where hikers can explore the ruins of a 1905 stone mansion. Geological attractions like caves and sinkholes draw campers in, while an assortment of tent campsites allow for overnight stays within the park. For a stunning view, follow the trail up the bluffs to look over Lake of the Ozarks. Campers can also swim, boat, fish, hike, or picnic around Ha Ha Tonka’s lakes and forests.

Bennett Spring State Park

Twenty minutes west of Lebanon, Bennett Spring State Park is a perfect getaway. Fishing for rainbow trout in the freshwater spring is one of the park’s primary attractions, while hiking trails along the stream, in the forest, and through a natural tunnel make Bennett Spring a diverse hiking destination. Hipcampers can make a reservation to stay at one of the park’s many tent and RV campsites—book early to secure a site with water, firewood, or a dump station.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park

Drive 30 minutes north of Lebanon to discover Lake of the Ozarks State Park. Following the shores of one of Missouri’s largest lakes, Lake of the Ozarks pairs miles of waterfront with beautiful oak-hickory forests. Explore hiking, biking, and equestrian trails, and stay at one of the park’s campsites, which include outpost cabins, yurts, and traditional tent campsites. Make the most of the lake with swimming, fishing, and boating, or discover a unique Missouri natural wonder with a guided tour through Ozark Caverns.

When to go

Spring and fall are the most popular times to camp in Lebanon, MO, with the warm, rainy spring extending from March to May. The summer months are hot, with highs near 90°F in July and August. Vibrant leaf colors and temperatures in the 70s make Lebanon an ideal camping destination in the fall, with the best colors presenting from early to mid-October. Winter camping is available in the region and boasts snowy weather with smaller crowds. The Missouri Department of Conversation advises a sleeping bag rated -20°F for campers exploring Lebanon in winter.
