We sit right at the bottom of a beautiful bluff right along the banks of the river! We have a dry cabin, with outdoor water, bathroom and cedar shower house. We have a fully stocked new camper with everything you'll need for up to 6 people, including ice cold A/C! We also own a large beautiful sand bar on the Big Piney River perfect for setting up your tent or hammock camping (only accessible by swimming or kayak, which we can provide for a fee)

We bought this property to enjoy our horses and cattle as well as the small animals including our rabbits , chickens , ducks , and more . We turned one of our barns into a place to have music and line dancing, however over time it turned into a perfect place for weddings and gathering events. Matt's Place at Meramec n Labarque

Located at the confluence of the Meramec River and Labarque Creek, my place (Matt's Place) is a ridge above a bottomland bowl of sorts. 
The old iron truss bridge here is likely built in 1910 and it has a survey marker from 1932. 
The creek has a nice little swimming hole, and a beach that is sometimes sand, sometimes, gravel, and sometimes a mix of both with some silt or even mud after a storm. It's peaceful down there to explore in the creek, wade while looking outward to an opening into the Meramec River. It's also fun to stand just at the mouth of the creek in the Meramec River. It's an awesome view upstream or downstream of tree lined banks, rock bluffs, and every now and then, passing boats, canoes, paddle boards, or kayaks. The old iron truss bridge hovers above the meeting of two waters. The water is cool and clean. Some fifty species of fish have been recorded in this creek, the most in all of Jefferson County and St Louis County. The bottomland has two levels, the lower bottoms down by the creek and the upper bottoms about a hundred feet from the creek. The upper bottoms has a clearing like a meadow with mowed grass.
My favorite things to do here include gazing up at a cottonwood tree that must be sixty feet tall. It's leaves in a breeze are like a thousand hands waving hello. The bottomland meadow offers just enough sky to see bats dance in the dusk air between the trees, then fireflies as it gets darker yet. Up top is where I live. 
Just five miles off HWY 44 and HWY 109, at Eureka, MO,&nbsp;(30 minutes west of downtown St Louis, 18 minutes from Six Flags)&nbsp;this place sits on a ridge with great views above  the Meramec River. 

This is site 1. It is on the ridge near an old iron bridge, looking out over the Meramec River. This site is walkable, about 350 feet from parking on gravel drive (near my house) or one may park a vehicle or motorcycle at the campsite.

This is site 2. This site has the most open grassy area for a larger group or for playing frisbee, horseshoes, or stargazing. SIte 2 also has a large picnic table, a garden hose for water, a 110v electric outlet, a fan, and a Weber bbq kettle.

Near Site 2. Labarque Creek is one of the cleanest creeks in Missouri, with 50 species of fish. Great place to put in or take out canoes, swim, picnic, and camp. Great picnic site or take-out ramp for a day trip of floaters. Up near the bridge is Site 1.

SIte 1. View to old iron truss bridge on a centuries-old abandoned section of road.

Site 3. Great place for tents, and camp or cooking fire. Horseshoe pits are here, and there is a hose that can be used to fill water bottles or to wash sand of dirt off your feet after a swim. Creek 200 feet away. 

This hammock is up close to my house, but of course you can relax here if you wish. I love watching canoes and kayaks float by on weekends. Or bring your own hammock and string it up in the bottomland where I've kept many trees to be hammock distance apart.

SIte 2. Labarque Creek campsite with 8 person tent available as a spare. This is the campsite nearest the creek for those wanting to swim, wade, or fish.

Site 1. Camp this mossy ridge above Meramec River at Labarque Creek, Old ruins of an iron truss bridge, likely built circa 1910. Oaks and sugar maples arch over the ridge like a cathedral ceiling. The view from the bridge is spectacular. Eagles, herons, hawks.

Hummingbird Hollow Outdoors

Hummingbird Hollow Outdoors is a 501c3 not for profit Farm Animal Sanctuary.  You will be able to camp with the horses, goats, potbellied pigs and more.  We open up our farm so that people can enjoy the outdoors, animals and nature, and the animals can enjoy people!  We are a sanctuary for all creatures on earth, including humans.
 
You can even claim the cost of your stay on your taxes!  All proceeds go to the care of the animals.

We've owned and managed Crooked Creek Ranch for many years now, building and maintaining trails, planting trees and working to make the place as beautiful as it can be for all who visit.

100% PRIVACY. 35 private wooded acres all to yourself with a totally private one-mile intermediate level&nbsp;mountain biking-hiking loop&nbsp;trail! Hike peaceful trails, exploring the wooded hills until you find the perfect spot for your tent. If you select a spot near the clearing, you will have access to the picnic table and fire circle. Spend your days mountain biking, hiking, fishing and watching wildlife on a private ranch in the Ozark Mountains, less than a quarter mile from the Mark Twain National Forest. Less than five miles from Indian Trail State Forest (Indian Trail Conservation Area) with beautiful Blackwell Lake. Canoeing and kayaking are less than an hour away (Meramec River, Current River and Jacks Fork River), as well as trout fishing at scenic Meramec Spring Park or Montauk State Park. Peaceful wilderness will inspire artists, writers, musicians. Quiet, secluded, beautiful, and rugged.  If you do not want to see anyone, you don't have to. You will have 35 private acres. You will be 100% secluded. If you want amenities, this is not the place. If you want complete privacy, this is the place! Grand Army Farm

Grand Army Farm is a family owned working farm. We raise beautiful angora goats for fiber and have chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys and meat goats. We serve local restaurants and participate in many local area farmers market. 
We pride ourselves in minimizing our carbon footprint, to the extent that we don't own any heavy piece of farm equipment, not even an ATV. The working portion of the game only accounts for 15 % of the land. 
What this means is that 85% of the wooded acres is available for you HipCampers to hike and explore.
Of particular interest is the site of an old moonshine distillery hidden in the woods, a 20 min hike east of your campsite. Legends has it that the moonshine was illicitly  produced during Prohibition and sold in the loft of our biggest barn where people would drink and dance the night away. 
The property boats of gorgeous mature oak trees, hickory trees and newer cedar stands where nature abounds. In the morning you may see the herons fly in or the Canadian geese come in.Learn more about this land:Pitch your own tent by our 5 acres lake. You will hear the frogs croak at night, see sights of blue herons or Canadian geese flying in, and hear our own geese and ducks greet you from across the lake. You will see my goat barn and see the majestic angora goats with shimmering coats come in for their feedings in the morning and leave to go to pasture afterwards. You will be a 10 min walk from our house and have complete privacy.&nbsp; If you would like to make a fire, there is plenty of wood available to pick up on site. &nbsp;A map on the patio fridge will show you where water is available and the hiking trail head. 

Pine Valley at Dillard Mill

Pine Valley is located in the heart of the Mark Twain National Forest and sits just a short walk away from historic Dillard Mill. Book the entire Farm or stay in an Airstream or Cottage. Group rentals Welcome!

Pine Valley is on 43 acres of beautiful green pasture and woodland. Take a hike on one of the trails around the property or go fishing or wading on the Huzzah Creek.  Spend your evening roasting marshmallows around your private campfire.

Guests will have access to the 40 acres of land surrounding them. There are two ponds on the premise. Enjoy the quarter-mile walk to the old Dillard Mill Store, displayed in museum fashion at the entrance of Dillard Mill State Historic Site. Tour the old grist mill in working form, fish for sunfish, smallmouth bass and largemouth bass at the Mill, and take memorable photos. Just across from our main entrance take the half-mile trail through Mark Twain National Forest and skip rocks on the Huzzah Creek! Ask us about access to our private gravel bar on the Huzzah. You will pass it, and the private parking, on Dillard Mill Rd on your drive into Pine Valley

We may or may not be on the premise during individual rentals. If there are any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out.

Other things to note

While this space provides most utilities and amenities you'd find at your home, it is important to note it is still a camping-style getaway. We do our best to treat the area, but you will encounter insects.

AT&T has limited cell phone reception in the area, Sprint is very spotty, and Verizon is pretty much unavailable for service. We provide the best free wifi available to help with communication back to the real world, but it is rather slow. The best wifi reception is near the General Store/Courtyard. 

We try and keep the area well maintained. You may see ATVs/tractors on our property and on the gravel road.

Pets are welcome for an extra $50 per stay. Please note our dogs may be on the property. They are friendly and well-behaved, although sometimes curious. Other guests may have no-leash pets as well.

Park right next to your glamper. Arrive anytime after 4pm, just give us an eta to know when to expect you. If your glamper is not ready upon your arrival, feel free to explore our farm, visit Dillard Mill or head down to the Huzzah while we make it ready for your stay. Self Check-In is always the norm for added privacy. We won't bother you except to wave or maybe say hello if you're out and about. Please feel free to approach us with questions, niceties, or needs.
