Mt. Ash Farm and Cattle Company

3 sites · RVs, Tents167 acres · Fort Kent, ME
I have owned this land for 34 years and it has been my life's work. While I no longer graze cattle here, I do continue to produce hay and harvest timber. The forest and fields are well managed and include scenic vistas, hiking trails and sitting places. Its a place to explore and discover its splendid biological diversity and peacefulness. The farm was awarded Outstanding Conservation Farm in 2003 and since 2009 the forest is a nationally certified Tree Farm by the American Tree Farm System. Visitors have always been welcomed here and the campsites are a natural outgrowth of sharing the land's peace and splendor. From the Top of the World sites you will experience how the world can slow down and the mind unravel. From Spring Pond you will enjoy the calming affects that surround you.

Riverbend Cabin and Sauna

1 site · Lodging7 acres · Monticello, ME
David purchased the property from his parents and built the log cabin, sauna and privy with good friends who also constructed the Rope Bridge. Linda came along in 2000 and moved in with her dog. David was just finishing up a bedroom addition to the cabin, just in time! We got married on the property in 2002. Our family gathers together a lot throughout the summers and we have a ski commute to our vehicles during the winter. We love to share our cabin with those of like mind. It's truly a sweet spot!Learn more about this land:Our cabin in the woods offers you a sweet getaway. Think of it as Luxury Camping. No running water but fresh water is provided. Privy on premises. Gas stove. Wood stove. No refrigeration (coolers & ice works!). Grill. Fire pit. Basic kitchen items. Wood-fired sauna. Totally off grid. Located on the river. The cabin is suited for short term stays, though someone with a good comfort level of being in nature and off grid could enjoy a longer stay. Life slows down in our neck of the woods.

St John River Front Tenting

2 sites · RVs, Tents250 acres · Fort Kent, ME
Very private tenting site directly on the St John rivers shore. Lots of wildlife, serenity and privacy. Great fishing spot especially for bass and muskie. Start your day walking on riverside trail, then maybe a kayak journey on the water, and take off for the day on the hundreds of ATV trails! And end under the star as you sit by the open fire listening to the peepers.

Roxanne B.’s Land

4 sites · Tents54 acres · Ludlow, ME
We moved to Maine for the cool weather and the beautiful parts of living in the woods. Over 100 years ago, this property was a potato farm. The trees have since taken over and we have spent the last 7 years trying to thin them down so that we will eventually be able to have strong old trees all over the farm. We also believe that the best thing for our animals is to allow them to connect with the nature around them. In the winter we put them in more confined spaces just because we can get 4-14 feet of snow in one season and getting to their spring-fall spaces can be challenging. During the spring-fall season, the animals have much larger spaces throughout the woods and on the open land to roam. You may wake up to the call of a rooster or the grunt of a pig.Nature is right on our front door.... literally! We have come home to bear, raccoons, and various other wild animals staring in our front door. The spaces we have set up as a campsite frequently get visited by moose and deer. We will go over with you how to be safe in animals come to check you out. Mr. Bruce is a licensed Maine Guide and Firearms instructor with the NRA and we have been training people how to survive, hunt, and take care of themselves in the woods for years. We have recently added a professional shooting and training range to our property so you will have an opportunity to sign up for classes while you are here.We offer courses in First Aid, Wilderness Survival, Wilderness First Aid, Firearm Marksmanship, Winter Wilderness Survival, Shelter Building, and more. We look forward to connecting with you when you book your stay so that you can choose the activities you would like to add to your stay.Camp Sites 3, 4, and 5 are subject to change at various times of the year. These sites are reserved for our "CAN YOU SURVIVE" participants and we move the location for each guest so that you start with a fresh area.
