This land has been in my family for many generations! Once owned by the founder of Gimlet, KY. Untouched and clean primitive land!Learn more about this land:Bring a tent or a self-contained camper! Pets are allowed to enjoy freedom! Also, it's just a short drive to Grayson Lake and Paintsville Lake with fishing, boating and swimming! Both a 10-15 minute drive.

Serenity Camp

I moved back here a few years ago to my home place where I grew up.  To me it is the most relaxing thing I can do to just sit by a bonfire and look at the view.

Little grove of trees was a perfect place to set up the hammock.

Hard to tell from the photos, but this canyon probably has 40+ ft walls--some great exploring options!!

The purple pin is the location of the RV spot.  It can easily acommodate any size RV and is level with gravel. 

Roaring Shoals Farm

Roaring Shoals Farm is a Black Angus cattle  and hay farm.  It is a family farm set in the beautiful hills of eastern Kentucky.  We have 600 acres of mountains that have amazing views, hiking trails, wildlife and tranquil creeks.  Our family would love to welcome you to our farm!Learn more about this land:Roaring Shoals is a family farm.  This campsite  is a double capacity with full hookup, located in a rural community halfway between Jackson and Salyersville on Highway 30 East. The site is close to the road; however there is much woodland to explore located on the property. We have small waterfall and a natural rock formation that can be hiked to.  There is great cellular service if your device uses Verizon towers, as there is a tower on the property.  This is the perfect place to come and relax if you are visiting the area.  It is approximately 12 miles from a small town with local restaurants and convenience stores.   Our farm raised USDA inspected black angus beef can be purchased if available; please check availability by calling a few days prior to your stay.  You may also purchase firewood that was harvested from our property which is a certified tree farm.  Our cattle are raised on another of our properties located a few miles up the road.  We would be happy to schedule a time to take you there to see where they are born and raised.

There are many logging trails that are great for hiking and wildlife watching. 

We have a small waterfall on our farm.  It offers endless hours of relaxing sounds.  

This hay field is on the backside of the campsite and backs up to a large creek. 

We like to pretend a nice little fairy or gnome lives in this tree's roots. 

Plentiful blackberries on top of the mountain.

Big Laurel Ranch

Big Laurel is a working cattle farm on land that has been in our family for 4 generations. The farm consists of 370 acres of bottomland pasture along the creek and quiet woodlands where you can explore jagged rock cliffs and beautiful vistas. The woodlands are undergoing transformation as we continue an ongoing forest rehabilitation project to return our land to its natural

state as a deciduous hardwood forest. Spotted on the farm is an amazing abundance of wildlife including wild turkeys, white tailed deer, pileated woodpeckers, bobcats, coyotes, foxes, bear, and red tailed hawks.

The Reformed Hunting Cabin features a firepit with hanging cookpot, cookware in the cabin, compostable toilet, and swing.
