There are several locations around Williams Rock to camp, open cave areas, with a 5 acre lake to tool around on if you have brought a kayak or small boat. The gates will be open to Williams Rock Area by noon of your arrival. It's primitive camping, so find your own "spot" on the property, respect the privacy of others at their "spots". First come first serve on each spot. The camp spots are not graveled, leveled, etc.. just the bare earth. The majority of this property is the woods, open fields, rough terrain, etc. So you will experience all Nature has to offer. Things like poison ivy, seed ticks, chiggers, ants, spiders, snakes, wildlife...Always check with the host on the app before arrival. Arriving when it gets dark will mean you will be setting up in the dark unless you have brought lanterns. If you've booked a site, the gate will be open for you, but you will be on your own. The camp host from April 27 - July 1st is on call for guests needs, but is not on site. Checkout time is by Noon. Check in is at 2:00 pm. If you'd like to stay another night, you must reserve another night online.

Batesville Mountain Campground is about "getting away from it all" with nary another soul in sight. If you have qualms about being alone in the woods -- this is NOT the place!!
There are only four campsites on the entire property so you are always out of sight and hearing of any -- you can even upgrade for $10/night and have the entire property all to yourself! It is that special!! And absolutely jaw-dropping beautiful! Sparky, the stone mason who quarried, cut and stacked every rock on every trail within the campground, has created a wondrous place to come camp and explore. We are also now restoring Sparky's original homestead -- the one room Green Cabin is soon to be our new "romantic retreat" with outdoor kitchen and shower, chicken house, and two-hole traditional Swedish "utedass"–or privy. As to where to sleep ... well you may lay your head anywhere -- under the stars, atop a pinnacle, out in a field or sheltered in the woods by the river.
BUT this is "DIY" camping -- as we have day jobs we are unable to cater to your every whim and you will have to be able to "depend on yourself" to negotiate the campground, set up your campsite and secure needed resources. Thus if there is any concern or question you really should stay at one of our other properties either Camp Toasty or Pinnacle Springs Recreational Camp. I moved to my dream home and property March 1, 2020.
I refer to it as a hideaway because not only am I at the end of town, this is a dead end street so it stays quiet of traffic. Being downhill, next to the creek, I feel, is safer from tornados, as well, the echo goes uphill instead of downhill toward this property. I am learning town history from a friend that runs the historical society, here in town.

The front of my property is very flat and grassy, from the creek fence to the front side of my house. Mature trees that line my property provide nice shade in the spring and summer, however, the property is open air. The stars are spectacular. There is no light pollution. (once it is dark, you can't see your hand in front of your face)
This is a small town of about 2000 people or so. There are quite a few shops as well as a grocery store, hardware store, a couple auto stores as well as a couple dealerships. There is a drive through coffee shop as well as a couple drug stores available in town. There are 3 to 5 different repair shops around. There is a beautiful golf course, 5-8 minutes away, just around the corner. .
I live in a peaceful and extremely tranquil spot here. A good hideaway, if thats what you’re looking for. Hide away and recoup before your next big adventure. There are a few kids around that love to ride their ATVs, bikes, walk, skateboard and skate up and down Conniebrook Lane. We have bike rally's coming through town often, in the summer.
Mt. View, AR, the bluegrass music capitol of the world is about 45 minutes away. Beautiful drive, to get there. Scenic overlooks on the way.
Wheelchair Accessibility: I am sure any electric wheelchair would have no problem going over the grass area anywhere they wanted to go in the camping area. I hope if there are any issues, it would be brought to my attention and I would make it accommodating, immediately.. I am extremely handy and mechanical.

I'm sure this campground would be great in the summer splashing in the creek, but it was also very nice and peaceful for our family's fall visit.
It was a nice mix having plenty of rugged areas down the hill to explore, and the safe and secure feeling Sparky's Garden area to come back to.
I also loved seeing the rockwork on the trails and terraces. We had a great time and hope to be back.

It was my first time tent camping. Was a bit nervous on night one but by night two I was so content. It was beautiful there. I was very thankful that the fire pit came with a griddle already. Ok so back to the first night, I was actually pretty terrified, I was trying to sound tough up above, it was SO dark. The road I had to go down to get to the campsite looked like they wanted me to end it all, but apparently i was just nervous and dramatic. It is steep, it is rocky, DEFINITELY wouldn’t recommend any small cars on that road but it was worth it! The stars were SO beautiful, there were so many, makes me wonder where those stars be hiding at when I look up at the sky at my house🤔 Your camera can not capture the true beauty of that sight so take a mental picture too, and keep it! We were by a creek which was a plus because I love a big body of water. The first night (in my head) it was surely the seen from a horror movie that I survived to be able to tell you that you MUST go experience it for yourself. I finally got to heat up a can of beans on a open fire out in the wood to eat because I was hungry, im not sure if I felt like an accomplished homeless person or the winner of Naked and afraid. Either way it was pretty dope. Oh so if you’re no lumber jack then I suggest you get the bundle of firewood. First night had to fend for myself, It was fun looking for the wood but it was all damp and wouldn’t stay lit. Beautiful scenery, 100/10 recommend, what are you waiting for??

I stayed for my 2nd time in 2 weeks, this weekend. And I plan to go back next weekend, too. It's only about an hour away from home for me, and I enjoy the solitude. Even though this site is fairly close to the road and to someone else's private property, it still is plenty private. It's out in the country, but also only about 15 minutes from food, fuel, and groceries.

I was looking for a cool place to solo camp, and I sure found it! I stayed last night, cancelled another reservation at a different place, and reserved my site here again for an additional night! This place is pretty awesome, and I don't want to leave. But, I'll be back soon! There's plenty to explore here, and the host encouraged me to do so. The hogs on the property are neat, too. Both are friendly. The one with the tusks looks scary, but he's a big ol baby. The creek is amazing! But don't try driving down to it in a regular sedan or if you don't know what you're doing. Ive been down there and back 3 times since yesterday in my Subaru Outback, and even that can be tricky. If you try it in a Corolla or something, you're gonna ruin your own day. I haven't figured out how to operate the shower yet, but it has a tankless water heater on it and I could really use a hot shower. But, I'm fine with stinking. Because I love it here. John has been very responsive and has offered some good suggestions of things to do while I'm here! I'd give it a personal 10/10 if I can get that shower, so for now I'll go a solid 8.5/10. If you're not a big baby, you can camp here just fine!

This hidden treasure was an amazing place to stay! The lake was beautiful and had so many fun activities and slides for the kids to play on. Tommy was very helpful and welcoming, I hope we have a chance to make it that way again!

My family and I enjoyed our stay and Indian Lakes. The staff was friendly and really diligent with coming for trash and taking care of the facilities. Our campground was away from other sites and a little more secluded which we enjoyed. The site was all gravel which was not as ideal for our 19-month-old, so I might consider a different site if bringing a toddler. We had a good time overall!

Indian Lake’s is a great place if you’re for a family friendly get away for the weekend. They have plenty of tent camping sites and a cool spot for swimming with a giant slide. I would recommend this for any family that’s wanting a safe spot to camp out.

I got to pick a tent site that suited my needs when I arrived, which made the 2-day stay all that more comfortable. John is an affable host, and a wonderful, conscientious steward of the land he shares with the public. I enjoyed the time he took to chat with me and entice me to paddle down the creek. My dog and I had a very successful first time experience in the water and it was easier than I thought and sensuous way to spend a half day in nature. 10 Stars

We really loved the property! Our heeler Ruby had just enough room to walk around after our long drive. we visited family and were minutes from their home. We will return on our next visit if it is available.
