Only spent a few nights here, but it was an amazing yurt and time in the area! The views are fabulous, there was more than enough firewood available for all your campfire needs, and it's quite nice to be able to take a hot shower while still technically "off the grid". Overall it felt both adventurous and luxurious and I'd love to go back!

I only saw the host while checking in, which is preferable for this type of location for me, but he made sure we knew we could contact him if we ran out of anything. He was also super nice and patient with our very late arrival - the mountain roads take way longer than google claims!

Highly recommended to anyone looking for a great view of sunrises, stars, and the lovely surrounding areas, or just generally looking for somewhere to get away.

We loved having the privacy and the large fenced area for the dog to roam. The yurt had everything we needed (kitchen, shower, etc.). The hosts are attentive to requests and have a great attitude. Great views from the deck.

Simply amazing! After over a week of tent camping in the mountains, and hiking/driving/going - it was the perfect place to just settle. It was sooooo quiet - not even traffic sounds, and the stars are incredible. The 2 acres of fenced in area immediately around the Yurt are super nice, especially if you have a dog. We played horseshoes, card games, practiced our slingshot skills with pebbles, and had campfires (the campfire pit is truly one of a kind - and the seating is comfy!). We found cactus flowers and hummingbird nests, and our two almost-adult teenagers revelled in the solitude,. There were four of us and our K9, and plenty of space. The hosts are wonderful people, the Yurt and grounds are incredibly well maintained. The beds are comfy, and everything is well explained, well stocked, and well thought out. By far some of the best family time that we had.

North side of yurt. There is a deck on three sides allowing movement around the yurt as the sun moves. Defintely gets hot, nice to be able to move with the wind and sun.Beautiful fire pit area. Horseshoes are off to the left. Solar lamps light the path at night.
Firepit seating areaThe firepit is well designed to mitigate the spread of wildfires. While one person can pick up the lid, it's easier with two.

The Yurt was a wonderful experience. It is perched on the edge of a plateau with a fantastic view of the valley below. Watching the full moon come up while sitting on the deck was quite an experience. Even more fun was shooting clays off of a cliff ledge on the Yurt's very private property. Very nice having a couple of acres of fenced property around the Yurt that easily kept in a shitzu, mini-pitt, and large hound.

The yurt was amazing. It's fully stocked with everything you'd need - cookware, grill, bedding, towels. I overpacked not knowing exactly what would be there. We enjoyed exploring the property and having nightly fires in the firepit that was stocked with a mega firewood supply. The stars at night were amazing - saw the milky way every night as well as planets! The views from the deck overlooking the valley are beautiful. It's secluded but not too far from town when we needed to run in to grab some food and is really convenient to explore Grand Mesa. We spent our days in Grand Mesa National Forest hiking and settled back at the yurt each afternoon to relax, have dinner and a fire. The yurt was clean and our host George was so friendly and kind. I knew he was right up the road in case I had any questions or needed help with anything. I'd highly recommend staying at the Yurt at Screwball Ranch for a little getaway and to explore the Grand Mesa area!

Tom was an absolute pleasure to deal with and the only thing more impressive than his graciousness was the amazingness of the property! We had 8 men stay for three nights on the property and made daytrips out to Grand Mesa and Black Canyon of the Gunnison. The property is wonderfully maintained, and rustic enough to really enrich the overall vibe of the outing. There is a very decently appointed kitchen and it was great to have a shower and toilet onsite aswell. I can't say enough great things about Tom and George and this property-- it was an absolute PLEASURE from start to finish and if you've read this far, read no further than my whole hearted and emphatic recommendation that you BOOK NOW!

Brian was great to work with. His planning for this event is the main reason his group's trip was such a success. Because Brian wasn't bashful about asking questions and clarifying what he was planning to accomplish, we both worked together and evidently made his plans turn into success. Maybe we'll see Brian or some of his attending friends return with their families for stays in the future.
