This site is in a small ranch pasture along the Bear River near some large cottonwood trees. From the campsite there are views of the Flat Top mountains. Very quiet except for occasional ranch activity.

Absolutely beautiful property, and Barb is a lovely and kind host—with a fascinating story.
The entire place is picturesque and well cared for in every direction. The campsite is clean with a babbling river and wooden bridge crossing on one side and mountain vistas on the other. We could see and hear the sheep in their pen but were far enough away to have total privacy.
We were all so charmed by Jake, the friendly sheep dog, with his flock of sheep and goats—who are also friendly and surprisingly outgoing!
We regret we only stayed one night but my wife and young daughter spent hours exploring with the animals.
Would return in a heartbeat.
What a dreamy spot this is with its breathtaking views, steady lullaby of a babbling stream and the sweetest animals ever roaming nearby. We had so much fun exploring and visiting with the goats and sheep. Farm visits are our favorite, and this was one of our favorites. Barb is also an extremely kind and helpful host, not to mention a fascinating person! We only wish we would've had more time. Thank you again, and we hope to come back!
Gorgeous setting!
Also make sure to take advantage of Barb's extensive knowledge of local hiking :-)
We loved staying at Barb's ranch. The spot felt really private while also having some fantastic views of the valley. Being right along the stream and seeing the goats goof around all day was a treat. We wished we had been able to stay an extra night and will definitely try and plan a trip back sometime.

Barb responded quickly to our request to book and her land is just gorgeous. If you like privacy by the river, long valley views to the Flat Tops, fire ring and starry nights, walks across their farm land, a gracious host and her sheep, goats and cows in the distance, then this is your spot.
What a beautiful spot in north western CO. Barb and Jer were great hosts. I camped with my dog by a lovely brook, opposite a pasture where the sheep and goats slept. It was a very special couple of days. Thank you!

My boyfriend, my dog, and I absolutely loved our time at Barb's spot. Our site had gorgeous views right on a creek, and we got to make friends with the cows and goats. Barb and her husband were incredibly kind and helpful, and we hope to be back later in the season!
We loved the location of this place! Far enough from the city to escape the noise and hubbub, but close enough to drive back to Steamboat to enjoy city festivities. Adorable farm with a friendly sheepdog! Relaxing, peaceful, and would definitely stay again. Also kind and welcoming hosts whom made us feel comfortable staying on their land! If you get the chance, cow #44 was real friendly and nice to pet!
We had a wonderful experience camping on Barb and Jeremiah's very scenic mountain ranch with our little teardrop trailer. Camp site was a beautiful grassy meadow next to a creek that was very private from the ranch house, and had incredible 360-degree views of the Flat Top mountain range and the Yampa River valley. No road noise--just the relaxing sound of the nearby creek. Lots of interesting and entertaining livestock in surrounding pastures. Barb and Jerimiah are great people and super accommodating and willing to help out in any way they could. We really enjoyed talking to them about the ranch & animals. They took time to answer our questions, and even brought out some treats for us to feed to the (very charming) goats. The ranch is located about a mile and a half from the town of Yampa, which has businesses (bakery, mercantile store, liquor store, etc.) so you can stock up on essentials.. If you continue up their road you get into national forest and wilderness areas with fantastic mountain scenery and trails (lots!) in the Flat Tops. All-in-all a great camping experience. We hope to go back soon to this incredible and unique place.
