Almost always sunny, you can enjoy shade in your camping site just outside the backyard fence or warm yourself by the campfire near your camp table. Our 1.5 acres are toward the North end of Hwy 17 in the San Luis Valley, Colorado. About 20 miles South is Sand Dunes Recreation, a wonderful hot springs open to the public complete with an indoor adult-only area serving food and alcohol. About 15 miles to the North is Joyful Journey hot springs with elegant outdoor soaking. About 8 miles East of Joyful Journey is Valley View hot springs offering clothing optional soaking in a wide variety of natural soaking settings. Come and try all three from our picturesque home in Moffat.Tent camping is available in the grassy area next to the driveway where you can park your vehicle and trailer for RV camping. The drive running North and South is yours from 9th Street to the North end of our property. The gate into the backyard is near the pump house at the South East. Ring the doorbell at the back door for access to the bathroom when we are home. Otherwise, you have to provide your own toilet facility. Wide open view of the Sangre de Cristo range to the East. Just pass the house is the view of the San Juan range to the West. Nice flat biking roads all around the immediate area. Crestone is 13 miles to the East, a spiritual meca and vortex with plenty of hiking trails in the Sangres. Zapata Falls and the Great Sand Dunes is South and East. You will see the Sand Dunes from your campsite. Visit the Alligator sanctuary on your way to the Sand Dunes. Elephant Rocks is about 30 miles to the West along with Penitente Canyon. Three beautiful hot springs are very closeby. Sand Dunes Recreation is 20 miles South with a big pool for kids and a separate area for adults only (minus splashing and yelling) where food and alcohol are served. Joyful Journey is 15 miles North with carefully constructed outdoor spaces to sit in the warm water. Valley View is 20 miles North and East providing clothing optional natural settings for soaking with a view. Ask the host about kites available for play.
